The parts are as Chester described them, coupe pork chops are 'bilayer' whereas sedan pork chops are single layer and have big "1" and "2" numbers cast into them. My current project is to install the JTD underpanel that was formerly installed on my coupe onto the race car. The JTD panel got taken out by a truck tire and I replaced it with the stock parts. The JTD panel will hopefully fit the sedan (with normal 325i bumper) after some work with the nibbler and a rivet gun... It's getting warmer and warmer and I'd like to add in some higher octane fuel for my sharked M3. PS: Haven't really paid close attention to prior water pump/radiator/thermostat threads but now as my 99 M3 approaches 70,000mi on its original water pump/radiator I'm starting to dig up old threads. This all happened after having received $800-1500 (!) from my usual mechanic as well as various BMW dealers' quotes on replacing the radiator+water-pump+thermostat. Guess for that $$$ I'll just learn how to do it. Wasn't looking forward to having to deal with collecting all that coolant for recycling but for $800+ otherwise I'll have to... :-) Phil '99 M3/2 ************************************************* Please help support the E36M3 list by visiting our sponsors: Bimmerworld http://www.bimmerworld.com Turner Motorsport http://www.turnermotorsport.com Eurosport High Performance http://www.eurosporthighperformance.com Rogue Engineering http://www.rogueengineering.com Treehouse Racing http://www.treehouseracing.com Elephant Motorsports Inc. http://www.elephantmotorsports.com DIGEST INFORMATION: http://www.bmw-m.net/resources/digest_info.htm *************************************************

In addition, it is most accurate and precise way to compare the aerodynamic efficiency of 2 given shapes. Given that the E36 sedan and coupe are both share the same basic shape, basic cross section and frontal area, the numbers area even more telling. Albeit by 3%, the E36 sedan is more aerodynamically efficient. Anyway, I ordered and received my JTD panel last week and plan to install it this weekend on my sedan. Hopefully later I can order the snazzy brake duct kit. Drive Safely, Raza

#6. CEL On, now what? - from Mel Silva

Date: Fri, 29 Jul 2005 08:29:09 -0500 From: Mel Silva <melsilva@mindspring.com> Subject: CEL On, now what? Okay, so I have been lax and have put off ordering a Peake Research Code Reader. Now, I have thrown a CEL on my way home from work last night and have no way of knowing what is causing it. I have 2 questions: Is there some way I can 'read' the code without a code read? Turn ignition to 1, step on gas 3.4 times and pull on turn signal stalk and wiper stalk simultaneously while activating door locks and changing radio stations? What the best place to get a Peake Reader quick without spending way more than I have to? Thanks all, Mel Houston, TX www.melsilva.net

On the 95s you can read out the codes with the stomp test (Ignition position 2 and stomp 5 times), I don't think it works on the OBDII cars however. -- Jamie Howton 2000 M5 1995 M3 Hampshire, IL

#9. insheild differences E36 M3 and E36 "other"?? - from Kent L. Shephard

Hi, I was curious and since I don't have a regular E36 "other" near me I wanted to know if the windshields are different? On my E30 there was a big difference in windscreen glass. Does a difference exist in the E36 M3 vs E36 "other" cars? Thanks, Kent

I believe they have it for $130ish and it's a big peace-of-mind investment that you can keep in your glove box. Well worth it. Jonathan L.
