But IMO, you should go "American" for a Tow Vehicle because they generally have higher ratings for towing AND because frequently you will be towing in the middle of nowhere, and your more likely to find a dealer that supports your respective brand.

If it's just a one-way trip across country, 14-16' will work. If you'll be using it to tow to the track regularly, I'd suggest an 18'. Gives you room for tool box, tire rack, fuel jugs, etc. In OR, where I live, the speed limit for cars towing trailers is 65mph. Feels fine to me. GMC 2500HD towing between 5-6K lbs. GMC 2500HD towing between 5-6K lbs. I just did 825 miles towing my E36 on my 18' open steel trailer through IL, IN and OH. My tow vehicle is a 2000 F250 with 5.4L V8 and I averaged 15.6MPG doing 65-80MPH. It accelerated and braked just fine and was perfectly stable. I witnessed another person trying to tow an 18' enclosed Pace trailer with a GMC 1500 truck they were having serious stability problems, weaving within the lanes with the tail of the truck wagging back and forth at 70MPH. I wouldn't want to try that for long, although I am sure the 2500HD handles it just fine. IMO, go with as big of a tow vehicle as you can afford and drive something else as a daily driver. #6. Auxiliary Fan Resistor - from Mike VanAmburgh

Date: Sun, 7 Aug 2005 17:44:47 -0500 From: "Mike VanAmburgh" <mvanamburgh@charter.net> Subject: Auxiliary Fan Resistor I've had a bad weekend and managed to break my 95 M3 and the wife's 97 M3 - and then my truck while towing the 97 M3 back home. The auxiliary fan in the 95 is not working. I checked the fuse and it's ok. After searching for info, I read that the auxiliary fan resistor might be the problem. I was going to simply swap the resistor from my wife's 97 M3/4 into the 95 so I could have a ride to work tomorrow but after searching parts sites, it doesn't even look like the 97 has this resistor?? Can anyone verify? BTW, the 97's fan blade shredded after coming in contact with the fan shroud after a clamp broke. So, this is why the 95 is the quicker fix... hopefully. Thanks in advance. Mike
