Replaced all ABS sensors...problem not solved. BMW computer says its the control module...bought a new one at over $800 (after discount)...problem still not solved. Last...its the ABS pump, replaced that and problem solved! Not sure about compatibility with swapping out ABS parts from an OBD 2 '96. I know for a fact though that the ABS pump is different from the '95. The ABS light is on. I have an OBD II scanner, round BMW code reader, and SRS reset tool but none of these seem to be able to diagnose my ABS light. Is there a way to read the ABS code without going to a BMW dealer? Part 2: Assuming the problem is one of the ABS parts such as the ABS pump or control module; I am parting out a 7/96 build date M3. Can I simply swap ABS parts from one M3 to another without any compatibilty problems? Never on left handers, nor in autox. It seems to require fairly sustained loads. I'd suspect something else in this instance. Even if you haven't got a CE light, you might check to see if you've had any misfires (??). Jonathan L.

As you can see, there's not all that much to the installation. Remove the underpanel, drill a few holes for the mounting of the inlets, drill a 3" hole and associated mounting holes for exit and connect the aerospace tubing. Done! ;) Jonathan L. ----Original Message Follows---- From: Rich Dorffer << What exactly does this kit look like, any pics anywhere? I couldn't find any on-line. >>

Very nice detail to workmanship. I too did not want the rack stop stuff, fixing the hoses all the time etc. It works very well. You will notice if you cook the brakes they come back much quicker. I notice my front wheels do not collect brake dust at the track anymore. You will also find out the inner pad will wear about 1 mm less than the outside pad by the mid-life of a set. That side of the rotor gets quite a bit of air flow. I also run the spec-vr and they hold up great at the track. Nice pads! Have fun! --Bill 96 M3 coupe

Yep. >Is changing the bushing bracket (eg Treehouse front control arm >bushing/bracket) legal in Prepared? The bracket itself would not be but the bushing material is. Unfortunately there are some great performance parts out there that just are not prepared class legal. Like these eyeball arms (which I believe Jon designed so you can stuff M50/S50s into E30s and these brackets clear the exhaust), underdrive pulleys, headlight intakes, speherical bearings for every suspension mount, the RRT control arms and tie rod ends, etc. If I were to build an E36 and didn't want to worry about rules then I'd go for Mod-lite. Sure you're not going to be the fastest guy out there since you won't have the (~350-450hp) motor the top dogs have but an E36 with a killer suspension setup and the right (read cheap) go-fast goodies along with an excellent driver can hang pretty high up in the field. That's my opinion of course from years of observation. :-) -Carlos. 98 M3 DE/autox car E30 325is future Spec E30 car (starting cheap)

This was how I located the issue with the ABS & ASC lights being on on the M3. Cost of reading the codes: $0 (YCMV :-)) My 2 cents, Jim Bassett 1998 M3/4 1993 325is #44 JP

Sign up for the CR email list, then. You'll get more than you ever cared for for :-) >>Guess the only way to tell >>is when the 06 rulebook comes out. > > Yep. Which should be fairly close, if not identical, to the 2005 rule book. IIRC from Nanci Maloney's email as new CR Chairperson, there will be no rule changes for 2006. >>Is changing the bushing bracket (eg Treehouse front control arm >>bushing/bracket) legal in Prepared? > > The bracket itself would not be but the bushing material is. Correct. And actually, IMNSHO, the CR Rules are fairly simple and easy to follow. They outline what you CAN do at a particualr preparation level (Stock, Prepared, Modified); if it's not listed, you CAN'T do it. My 2 cents, Jim Bassett 1998 M3/4 1993 325is #44 JP
