The Bentley is deceiving in that it would appear that the fender liner is towards the front of the wheel well when it is actually toward the rear. I'm just waiting on Turner for the Peake tool that I ordered to reset the CEL and see if it remains off. I'm hoping this solves the problem, I did find that the inlet tube was cracked (there is a brass insert in this tube and the crack was right where the insert ends), so I know that this was leaking, I just hope it is the only leak. You guys were right on the money with your diagnosis, this part was indeed broken. Assuming you are using the GC race setup (coilover and camber plates) you'll find that you severely restrict the range of adjustment on the camber plates with the factory strut reinforcment plates. However, you can use the reinforcement plates with some modifications. You'll need to grind or cut away both the outer and inner lips (or at least significant portions) of the reinforcement plates. I have yet to do this so I can't give you any further specifics. It appears to me that this will significantly reduce the strength of the reinforcement plates but its still far better than not having them. PEr my conversation with Dale at GC, you don't reuse the plates. The ring with the index mark on the GC camber plate acts as a reinforcement plate. -----Original Message----- From: tetice@triad.rr.com [mailto:tetice@triad.rr.com] Sent: Wednesday, August 10, 2005 5:49 PM To: E36M3 Subject: Re: RE: [E36M3] Coilover Upgrade - Strut Reinforcement Plates? But, you have to grind notches in the edges of the supports to allow for full movement of the cc plate. When you put them together off the car you'll see what I mean. They have skid pad and autox in wet. Two locations (SC and GA) and they will be hosting a day at Talladega. I will be instructing for him for the Sept and the Nov schools. Contact Carl (subject line: Instructor) On a separate note, if we can get a decent group between us, we can convince Carl to host a day just for us (without the students) for "instructor training and prep". I believe the track facility is donated by the various tracks owners to Extreme Measure and if we can pick up the cost for insurances and minor other costs etc. I will start of with this group (E36 list) first. Ideally (I think) we should have 12 or so folks. So far I have: Seth Thomas Ahmad Lutfeali If you are interested, shoot me a private email. I will wait for 5 days before I post it on the open Bimmerforums to fill in the gap. Thanks, Ahmad Lutfeali
