Since the new head gasket was replaced, temps have definitely dropped, but 270 deg F is not uncommon. The oil cooler route is definitely on my "to do" list. Neil's write-up is going into my save file (until my dell craptop crashes and burns again and their stellar customer service lets me down again -- <whine off>). I welcome any temp relief for my motor as a cooler running motor transfers less heat to the passenger compartment, etc. (not too cold of course!). Now, the San Fran thing: I'll be in downtown San Francisco from Sunday through Friday (training class) at the Marriott Courtyard. Looks like I can find plenty to do w/o too much work, but in case any locals had anything going on ... Unfortunately, I can't do driving stuff as my neck is still messed up. :-( Cheers, Kirk Lachman '95 M3 #21 I-stock

Had the same problem. The switch is located 'behind' the tubular striker bar. The face of the switch wears away over time, or the Two ways to solve problem. 1) Replace the latch striker 2) Wrap a couple of zip ties around the tubular striker bar. Trim ends. May require periodic replacement (every year or so).

Dunno if there's anything specific going on, but my arm can be twisted to meet for a few beers :-) Jim Bassett - it's a Friday before a track weekend, you expected "content"?

I wrapped small 3 zip ties around the tubular striker bar and my window seeking problem is solved. Thanks. You have performed your random act of kindness for the day. #9. More door/switch questions - from Scott Spangenberg

Date: Fri, 19 Aug 2005 11:40:51 -0700 (PDT) From: Scott Spangenberg <cpmustang2001@yahoo.com> Subject: More door/switch questions Recently, I noticed that my dome light was going on and off as I drove. I don't drive the car much at night, so I can't really be sure how long it has been doing this. I suspect that it is the switch in the door that indicates when the door is closed. Last night, the car wouldn't let me lock the doors with the remote ... it chirped at me like it does when a door isn't shut. I assumed this is because of the same issue I am having with the dome light. Is this the same switch that handles the auto-window-seal feature that Gerry was asking about? -Scott Spangenberg -95 Avus M3, Track and Summer car -98 Neon ACR, Autox and Winter car -88 Mustang, CP Autox car (2006, maybe!) -05 F150, Girlfriend's & parts go-getter __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? I will use it, because I essentially must at this point. I would prefer not to send the aluminum rack I have as a core. Does anyone have a steel bodied rack available for sale, in core status? Please email me directly if you do, with your price and location. Thanks!
