#3. Coolant Temp Gauge problems - from kevin ogrodnik
Top
Date: Mon, 29 Aug 2005 07:20:04 -0700 (PDT) From: kevin ogrodnik <kwogrodnik@yahoo.com> Subject: Coolant Temp Gauge problems Hi all, After changing the head, the tempurature guage is pegged in the red but the red light is not on. It stays and starts there when the car is started cold or when warmed up. Doubled checked with a handheld laser temp at the radiator and lower hose and temps are normal (about 170-180 degrees). Would this be a bad sending unit, or are there any other places to check? Thanks in advance. Kevin 95 M3 __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Tired of spam? Yahoo! Dunno if they are available separately from BMW - you might check with Cruzin Performance (http://cruzinperformance.com/). He's cleaned the injectors in both cars, replacing the pintle caps & o-rings. You might be able to get some from him? Jim Bassett

I just mounted one on a "Euro" oil filter housing and it looks like it "should" work. It'll be at least a week before I actually get the motor to see any oil pressure so I don't know for sure. Just a matter of finding the time to bolt some remaining bits on, find 2 M14x1.5 bolts, and drop it in the engine bay, hook up the wiring harness, install the tranny and clutch. so yeah 9 months is about right. Any significant improvement over the red bushings w/ enforcers? 2] The red bushing/enforcer subassembly seems to be thicker than the stock bushing. Will that raise the transmission slightly after installation? Thanks, Alan 95 M3
