Judging by the fact that my coilover suspension took 10 yrs (ok, 9.75 yrs) to realize a BBK will probably go on my car when it becomes vintage. =P The sunbelt cams would have to come first ;-> but a lot trickier to install. Anyone has experience with the Sunbelt cams? So I'll leave them alone. Dave mentioned 18 ft-lb for these. I didn't get any installation instructions with my coilover kit so I'd appreciate if someone can tell me the torque specs for bolts I can't find in Bentley. Thanks! I deal in AP Racing, StopTech, Brembo, BMW stuff, Porsche stuff...from all those possibilities the StopTech is the best performance by far for the money. For the Brembo's, I can't even see a reason to buy those over the StopTech's. As Carlos pointed out, the consumables alone are way better priced. And I've read a lot about the engineering behind improving the stiffness of the StopTech calipers, very worthwhile which none of the other calipers have. And I'll have a special on StopTech's next month (starting Oct) which I'll post here. ; ) Jack Money #86 CM M3 ---> For Sale @ $32k w/spares!! #5. Accessing the A/C Evaporator box - from Marc Plante

Date: Thu, 29 Sep 2005 14:40:16 -0400 From: Marc Plante <marcva@gmail.com> Subject: Accessing the A/C Evaporator box My ventillation system is smelling like a locker room, and I understand that I need to get into the Evap box to clean out some funky-ness. I've seen a detailed process for the E39 that involves drilling a hole in the side of the Evap box from the driver's side wheel well, then using a garden sprayer to clean out the innards with disinfectant, allowing the mess to run out the drain, then putting a rubber plug in the hole Does anyone know if the process to access/rehab an E36 A/C Evaporator box is the same as an E39? I'm a liitle leery of taking a drill bit to the box in the wrong spot. Thanks Marc Plante 1997 E36 M3/4 67k 2005 Child (3 weeks and counting) Vienna, VA

You'll also need the locking plate (pn 32111140464) as they are one time use. You'll also need a new M10 nut (pn 32216756327). The easiest way to get it off the kingpin is just loosen the M10 nut so that the top of the nut clears the tie rod threads and whack away at the top of the nut. The end of the wrench has an opening for a 3/8" drive ratchet which works perfectly with a torque wrench to properly torque the tie rod before securing it with the locking plate. =) Chester --- Thomas Philip <tphilip@omtay.org> wrote: > > For the tie rod, you'll need a very flat 32mm wrench to take it off > > the > > steering rack. > > Bicycle headset wrenches are a decent choice for this; I use Park > Tool's HCW-15: > <http://www.parktool.com/products/detail.asp?cat=50&item=HCW-15>
