Customer Service sucks! At least with 'internet ordering'. Four shipments later over four weeks and my order is complete. Shipping on what should have been a shoe box of hardware was $25. I just placed an order with Dennis @ Pacific, we will see how it goes. KLB - Happy with pricing - not happy with CS. -------------------- 9 -------------------- Date: Tue, 04 Oct 2005 12:09:01 -0500 From: "Alan Leung" <alanleung100@hotmail.com> Subject: My Suspension Upgrade Journey (Part I - Purchase) - Long <snip> procured new factory hardware from Pacific BMW. <snip> Now for the hardware from Pacific BMW. <snip> The fuel filter shipped to me was an E30 part and to this date I'm still waiting for one ball joint. <snip> Pacific has some of the best prices around, but apparently availability can be an issue. <snip> Alan 95 M3 - GC coilover in progress

Shephard" <kents@kls-consulting.com> Subject: Parts for Free or cheap (1997 Coupe) - Local Please Hi, I'm in the SF bay Area and I have some crap in my garage that I want to give away. I have a set of stock headlight assemblies (decent). I have a set of stock taillamps (good condition). I also have a set of stock M3 wheels(staggered some curb rash) Cheap, make an offer. I can be convinced to give up the spare, maybe. I prefer not to ship since I'm giving the stuff away. I will meet you anywhere in the East Bay. If you are on the list and out of the area; if you can convince someone to ship it to you have them contact me for pickup. Kent

The consideration for me now is if it's a track car, how much harmonic distortion will I experience, especially given the usual range at 2-4K at which the distortion occurs, if I'm driving on the track...which hopefully means I won't be cruising around! :-)) -- _____________________ Roy - '99 M3 Estoril Blue On 10/3/05, Rich Dorffer <e36m3digest@ameritech.net> wrote: > > There is one solution that I know of to your entire request: > > http://www.uucmotorwerks.com/RSC36/ > > UUC RSC36 is the only one I am aware of without droning or other > unpleasant > harmonic distortions due to the Corsa design. > > Regards, > > Rich > >

I don't like the distortions if I'm cruising on the streets...but given the conditions of driving on the track, I'd assume that it's find in this application? Jim's experience on his track car seems to bear this out. The really attractive part about going with RE is that I live just 2 towns over from where they are located and can get there to pick up the stuff in 10 minutes! -- _____________________ Roy - '99 M3 Estoril Blue On 10/4/05, Chris Salter <errsomeone@yahoo.com> wrote: > > Roy, > > I had the Rogue DMS exhaust from its frist release and > liked it. If it's for track use only, I wouldn't worry about the inserts. Mainly I put them in because I could just feel the neighbors cringing every time I drove by 8^). Oh, and my ex-wife was complaining. Come to think of it, she still does. Oh well, different topic. - Greg Roy Kao wrote: > Date: Tue, 4 Oct 2005 17:06:55 -0400 > From: Roy Kao <royckao@gmail.com> > Subject: Re: [E36M3] Rogue Engineering E36 M3 Exhaust > > Given that I've now had 2 replies about installing the silencer inserts for > the DMS, my follow up question is: is this too loud if it's driven mostly, > if not 100%, on the track? I'd appreciate any experience/opinions on a reasonably performing, reasonably quiet, tire with some snow performance since I only drive a few days snow days? Decent dry performance - equivalnet to a mid-range all-season, not like driving on marshmallows which the Pilot Alpin's always felt like when I had 'em on my 5'er. The WR's wet performance is exemplary and it's snow performance, while not up to that of a Blizzak is orders of magnitude better than the Alpin. A lot of local 7-series drivers here in Northern Colorado use them all year round. Date: Wed, 5 Oct 2005 06:32:16 -0800 From: "Matthew Teel" <mteel@beluga.com> Subject: RE: [E36M3] Tires Mark, I obviously run a dedicated winter tire here in Alaska (Blizzak WS50s). But my spring/fall setup is stock rims with Khumo ECSTA ASX's in stock sizes. I've been impressed with the ASX's. Obviously they don't grip like Michelins or Bridgestones, but they wear like iron, get pretty dang good traction (survivable in light snow conditions), work in cold temps on wet or dry pavement and sell for half of everything else. They are reasonably quiet too. They do have a tendency to flat spot on cold mornings (even in the garage) but they work it out in the first couple of miles. They work so well for a daily driver that I just left them on this summer (our summers are cool). Now that the rears are getting pretty thin, they are starting to finally go off and act like the rubber is getting hard. I almost certainly will buy another set for the rears anyway. Fronts look good after 20K. If your looking for a cool weather tire that can get you home should you get caught in the snow accidentally, IMO they will do an adequate job.
