It has some pitted rust on the mating surface. Two small areas are deeper than "wire brush" cleanup. Is it possible/advisable to take it to a machine shop and have resurfaced for a reinstall? Thanks, Mike S.

#4. Climate Control help... - from Nate Thuerk

Date: Thu, 13 Oct 2005 23:09:44 -0400 From: Nate Thuerk <nthuerk@gmail.com> Subject: Climate Control help... Well it happened. My climate control finally started the on/off game and will inevitably quit. Since the cold weather season is coming a reliable heat source would be pretty nice and at the same time not dipping too deep into the family Christmas budget. Well I have been looking into a way to fix this by taking it apart, re-soldering, pretty much trouble shooting everything and to no avail. My father happened to talk to the local BMW shop (not a dealer) and they mentioned that they could fix this by replacing certain capacitors. My question to you guys is has anyone done this before? If so what capacitors need to be changed and what was used to replace the OEM piece. I am looking for a way to fix it without dishing the 300 bucks for a new unit. Thanks for any info guys, Nate 97' M3

The obvious thing was to replace bulbs behind dash, and when I pulled it out to my surprise I found there were only three lamps for the whole cluster, and they were all good. Since I now see the tach and speedo are lit by light pipes, how could it be that parts of it are unlit? Is this clouding of the plastic light pipes or delamination of the cluster face? Not sure what you mean by the smallaer gold washer. The threaded bolt that's part of the heim joint has a small shoulder/lip at the inside nearest the shank. I can't remember but I think this is a machined part of the bolt. Wish you'd asked sooner. Just had mine off last weekend to do an alignment. The gray washer actually sits on the flat surface and goes over the shoulder. It protects that shoulder from getting smuuushed. Then the bolt goes thru the sway bar. As I recall, GC did not provide any washers that went on the nut side of the sway bar or strut housing. #10. My Suspension Upgrade Journey - Still Bouncy - from Alan Leung

Date: Fri, 14 Oct 2005 09:49:20 -0500 From: "Alan Leung" <alanleung100@hotmail.com> Subject: My Suspension Upgrade Journey - Still Bouncy I've got a couple responses about the bounciness of my GC race coilover (500F/600R) over rippled highway. Last night I cranked the rebound up to 1/2 turn from full firm in the front and 1/4 turn from full firm in the back. It's not as bad as before (1/2 turn from full soft front & back) but it's still quite bouncy. Any ideas? Alan 95 M3
