Yes, there are, and you can buy a rebuild kit for the power steering pump (rather than replacing the pump entirely). I recently bought one for my 1990 325is but haven't gotten around to doing it yet. If you add none - a different spring number appears. The convertibles spring rates are likely the same as the regular M3, but simply longer to accomodate the weight difference. BMW typically has multiple spring configurations to accomodate curb weight differences, the difference is usually the length (although it can be the number of coils and wire diameter as well) but typically the spring rate is the same. While changing the oil on the M3 last night I saw > what appears to be P/S fluid leaking. Not from the usual places that I can > see, and as a matter of fact all the hoses are fairly new (last Nov, > actually). There are gaskets and seals in the pump although I don't know if there's a rebuild kit available for E36s. I rebuilt a Porsche 928 PS pump with a factory kit, that was made by ZF too, so maybe. > It's not a huge leak (the fluid level is OK) although it did leave a spot > or two in the garage floor. The thing that really ticks me off is that > it's coated what was a very clean underside of the car (after the rear > main seal fix). Grrr :-) A couple of cans of brake cleaner will have it sparkling again, just don't get it in your eyes (don't ask me how I know). > The wettest area appears to be the area around the banjo both for the high > pressure hose and the mounting bolt nearby, but that just may be due to > gravity. I would re-torque the banjo bolts, clean it up via the aforementioned method and see if you can pinpoint the source of the leak. I wouldn't suspect a leaky pump unless you've got a ton of miles or it's obvious that's where it's leaking from. Regards -- Jamie Howton 2000 M5 1995 M3 Hampshire, IL

The original M3 rims? http://www.wheelcollision.com/wccpix/59202.jpg My bargain winter tires/rims turned out to be not such a bargain since two of the rims wobble.. and although it's only about 1/8" it is enough to get a nice shimmy going. Looking for bargains, pretty isn't that important - not bent is. Don't want hunks out of them, but if some fill and paint can make them reasonable looking I'm interested. Thanks!
