I'm going to be having my diff swapped out within the next couple of weeks, and I'm wondering what else I can freshen up while it's out. Car is a '99 with 155K miles and the RTABs were replaced at about 90K. I can't really tell for sure from the diagrams on RealOEM.com, but would replacing the rear subframe bushings be an "easy" job while the diff is out? Anything else that should replaced as part of the diff swap? Thanks! Jonathan L. ( *Should* be sleeping in a hotel in Willows, CA, resting up for the pre-race testing day for the 25 Hours of Thunderhill, but am stuck without a ride this year. =( Hi Jim! )

I have no idea what they are worth, make me an offer and I'll see if I think it's reasonable (I _think_ the airbag new goes for around $1000 and BMW steering wheels are typically in the $350 range). Although if anyone knows what the selling prices are for new parts I will sell for 50% of thaose prices. -- Jamie Howton 2000 M5 1995 M3 Hampshire, IL

I dunno about "easy", but removing the diff is certain part of the procedure. At a minimum they should be inspected at that time (if possible) & replaced if necessary. > Anything else that should replaced as part of the diff swap? Half shafts & rear wheel bearing, if needed, is about all I can think of. > ( *Should* be sleeping in a hotel in Willows, CA, resting up for the > pre-race testing day for the 25 Hours of Thunderhill, but am stuck without > a > ride this year. =( Hi Jim! ) Sigh. I'll be a "mere" spectator for the first time in 5 years. Next year, as the saying goes :-) (I'm still liking the easy-to-drive E30 318 option :-)) Jim Bassett
