Recently it become more frequent. Changing the plugs corrected the problem. The other likely cause is a coil pack. No damage likely. #2. my m3 fell off moving ramps today :( - from Adam Lazur

Date: Sat, 3 Dec 2005 00:13:00 -0500 From: Adam Lazur <adam@lazur.org> Subject: my m3 fell off moving ramps today :( View the pics and small narrative at: http://adam.lazur.org/gallery/v/m3/fallen-ramp The story: The mover was way concerned with scraping the front of the car, and then the underside of the car when it finally made it over the hump into the trailer. So we eased it up onto the ramps (I drove, not the best idea hindsight liability wise). The front didn't scrape after a little work, so slowly up the ramp the car went. He stopped me after the front of the car made it into the truck to check for scraping on the underside. It looked good, so he motioned me forward. I gently let out the clutch, the wheels spun forward, the ramps shot backwards, the car fell with me in it. Hindsight: The ramps were way too close to the edge of the truck. They also weren't secured due to lack of holes in the trailer (the ramps had appropriate bolts to latch in). I probably could've rolled the car over backwards if the car was further inside the truck. The moving company is prepping to take care of fixing the car when it arrives in CA. Anybody want to recommend a garage near Mountain View? Looks like I won't be able to make the autocross on Dec 11th :( -- Adam Lazur

I did a similar thing to my old 330i when I was trying to trailer it one time and I couldn't find a mark on it afterwards. It seems like you probably have a few scratches on the bottom of the tailpipe but it's not like that makes any difference. I would hope for the best, you might be suprised. Got it with 92K miles on it and already have over 94K on it now. Car is bone stock and was very well maintained. Original owner had it from '95 to 2003 then another owner had it since then. As far as I can tell it just sat in the prior owners garage all the time...we put more miles on the car in a month then he did in one year. Cosmetically the car is in outstanding condition, and it is also in exceptional mechanical shape, I put about $1K worth of parts into it and at the moment it needs nothing. Anyway, here are the pics: http://tinyurl.com/7pfqc Dave T.

Preferably one familiar with the weaknesses of the E36 chassis, cooling system etc. Will also want compression/leak down test. What is the going rate for a pre-buy inspection? Thanks- Jeff Bjerke
