I noticed this morning when I get in my car the window doesn't drop when I lift the door handle. The windows won't roll down. Not the lock switch on the console because that won't stop the "lift the handle, drop the window" thing that is supposed to happen. I checked the fuse and it's fine. Which relay controls the windows???? I don't have my ETM handy while I'm at work. Thanks, Kent

This happened to me on the driver's side. Sometimes the motor is just jammed. My dealer hit it with a hammer and the darn thing works again. Dealer said this will fix 50% of the motor problems...crazy. Just in case, I have a spare motor I bought from a fellow lister. Just remember, the bright side to your problem is it stopped working in the window up position ;-)) good luck, Bob Gill 97 ///M3 coupe (sponsored by WCC & JT-Designs) Philly Region SCCA 2005 Philly Region BSP Champion -----Original Message----- From: Kent L. From the info I've seen, that amount of consumption is "normal" and within BMW's tolerances/guidelines/etc. I don't think there's much to worry about, IMO. (FWIW, my 163K-mile M3 is using ~1qt every 600 miles or so, and is due for a bottom-end rebuild - I'd be happy with your consumption. :-)) My 2 cents, Jim Bassett 1998 M3/4 1993 325is #44 JP - prep for the 2006 season begins tomorrow :-)

Date: Wed, 14 Dec 2005 19:38:06 +0000 From: sk99m3@comcast.net (Spencer Fong) Subject: Brake Replacement I'm planning to replace my brakes (discs, pads, fluid), but have a couple of questions: 1. Is caliper rebuilding a normal part of the process or only if I see a leak? 2. Should I order the "caliper bushing kit"? These aren't the brass upgrades, but the stock pieces. Thanks. -spencer '99M3 80k miles
