The Oes and Sports have the same spring rates the only difference being the height. The Oes are .5 inch taller. I am assuming you are content with the ride and are concerned with the height. Here is the solution: Get these 9mm spring pads from the dealer: 31332227901 for the upper springs (this is for your car model/year) 31331128522 for the lower springs. (This is from an E30 325i). Throw one at the bottom and one at the top of the springs. Assuming you currently have the 3mm, the upgrade (9mm spring pads) should give you a half in increase. There you have it. I have H&R sport springs in my '98 M3 and need to make it a bit more road worthy (ride height is too low for my driveway) since it no longer does track duty. I'd be interested in a swap with anyone that has H&R OE Sport springs or equivalent - I might even consider a swap back to stock (my originals are gone). It's not a performance advantage so no one is ever going to protest it/you. It's certainly within the "spirit" of the rules. I don't want to be dodging your pork chops when they fly off. Regarding the engine, head gaskets go away in time. Personally, I'd have it replaced. While you/they're in there, you can check for any excessive wear elsewhere and r&r as necessary. But for GOODNESS sake, don't replace the pistons. Do you have the original radiator? If so, change it out. You don't want that nasty little plastic neck to break off in the esses at WGI. That's about it. C'mon out and play! Hey, even I took third of five in IS in my rookie race on H&R sports with Eibach bars! Pretty soft Club Racer but it worked well enough. You might kick my tail. And please, drive your car to the track. I need some company in that regard. And don't take it too seriously - remember the goal is to be safe and to have fun with those really exciting starts, not waiting for point-bys, and passing in corners. Dave Hogg #20 IS

My thought was to go through the top end of the motor, as I suspect the head gasket may be on it's way out due to the waft of antifreeze I smell occasionally. I have already replace the water pump and radiator as well as the crossover with the aluminum part. Hmm, are under drive pulleys allows? I might have to switch those back. Umm, I am a trailer guy. I bought a trailer soon after doing D.E.s because I know if I don't have one I will need it. I hope to make a decision shortly, but the bolt in roll cage grandfather clause is a big reason for me to move forward this year. I have been meaning to do this for a number of years now, and just picked up another 928 street car candidate, so perhaps it is time to start the M3s race career. #10. Universal Seat Slider for Race/Aftermarket Seat - from Kirk
Top
Date: Wed, 4 Jan 2006 20:12:09 -0800 From: "Kirk" <admranger@earthlink.net> Subject: <FS> Universal Seat Slider for Race/Aftermarket Seat I have a universal seat slider that would be good enough for your passenger seat in your race car (should you need one) or street car. It is used and I didn't like the small amount of play that the slider gave so I took it out of the race car. Yours for $30 plus shipping from 89144. Cheers, Kirk Lachman '95 M3 #21 I-stock Las Vegas
