I'm starting to think that my S-02's are more like training wheels. Hi Dave, The main reason for asking is that Hoosier is closing out last year's tires, and there are 255s on the list, but not 245s. Of course I run Hoosiers as my daily tires :-) Regards, Stan Shaw Stan.Shaw@Excell.Net

#3. cams and OBC/MPG gauge - how far off? - from Chris Papademetrious

Date: Sat, 28 Jan 2006 11:27:13 -0500 From: Chris Papademetrious <chrispitude@gmail.com> Subject: cams and OBC/MPG gauge - how far off? Hi guys, It looks like my 95 M3 is going to be getting some TLC. There is a little rust spot by the top of the windshield. The body shop guy says $400 to fix the spot and re-do the roof. I figure I may as well spend $2000 and do the whole car. Well if I'm going to do that, I guess it's time for some maintenance. I have a mechanic lined up who will do work on the side on his own time. Hmm, that timing chain tensioner should probably be replaced at 167k miles. While he's in there, maybe I should freshen up the valvetrain... and put the Sunbelt cams in... So that's how it started. I'm looking at the Sunbelt kit for my daily driver. I understand that the 24# injectors will affect the OBD fuel economy reading. Does it also affect the economy gauge on the dash? I know that the OBC can be adjusted to some extent, but not enough to make up the difference. Does this adjustment affect the dash gauge as well as the OBC? I'm just trying to get an idea of what I can adjust and how far off it will be. Thanks in advance, - Chris

Dave - I installed an E39 M5 trunk spoiler on my E36 M3/4 last year. The local BMW/Mercedes body shop affiliated with Knauz BMW (Chicagoland = dealer) painted it for $60.00. Installation took all of 5 min. Plan carefully, = because that 3M tape sure is sticky! Once you put it in place, your not going to be = able to move it. Grant 98 M3/4

#6. Cooling System Overhaul Parts List - from Jeff Bjerke

Date: Sat, 28 Jan 2006 19:18:36 -0600 From: "Jeff Bjerke" <jbjerke@charter.net> Subject: Cooling System Overhaul Parts List About 2.5 years ago I changed out the cooling system (radiator, t'stat, t'stat housing, waterpump, belts, hoses etc.) on my Wife's E36 M3. Someone had posted a very comprehensive list including part numbers. He had included small pieces that were very inexpensive but likely to break during the procedure. It helped tremendously and I'm about to embark on the same process on my 98 M3 and I can't find it in any of my searches. Does anyone happen to know where I can find this? Thanks- Jeff Bjerke

#8. Suspension Upgrade - from kresener@aol.com
Top
Date: Sun, 29 Jan 2006 17:18:16 -0500 From: kresener@aol.com Subject: Suspension Upgrade I'm looking for the group's thoughts on which upgrade to perform first before this track season begins. Car is a '95, with H&R Sport springs and Konis SA shocks. I run a variety of R compounds, likely to purchase a set of RA-1's for the begining of the year. When I wrapped up last year, I felt that the car was begining to push a bit, and that I was having to take corners slower than I wanted to. I convinced myself to put on camber plates and larger sway bars over the winter, but now find myself shopping for a trailer to haul the car around on so can really only afford one of the two upgrades. Anyone have a suggestion of which I should do first, the plates or sway bars? Oh, and if anyone has a lead on a decent open trailer within a couple hours of Louisville, let me know! Date: Mon, 30 Jan 2006 09:00:31 -0600 From: "Patrick Goss - PA" <Patrick_Goss@GMACM.COM> Subject: Speedbleeders Size? I'm a fan of speedbleeders, having run them on most of my past vehicles. Can anyone verify the size required for our cars? I will be putting these on my 97M3/4 with original calipers. Below are some links, first of which is russel's website where they show a universal listing for 75-98 bmw. The 2nd is from summit racing where I am getting them from showing a non-universal application to BMW..... http://www.russellperformance.com/auto/brake/sb-bmw.shtml http://store.summitracing.com/default.asp?Ntt=rus-639570&searchinresults =false&Ntk=KeywordSearch&DDS=1&N=115&target=egnsearch.asp&x=34&y=6 7mm x 1.0 thread, 34mm long are specs according to summits' website. What our M's really have, well I don't know! Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'd pull out one of the stock bleeders, but that's messy and I don't have a thread gauge or anything.
