You either use an FM modulator or cassette adapter. Both are bad. My radio died so I bought a Kenwood with the iPOD interface. charges the iPOD and the tracks/playlists show up on the display. kent Michael Michalski wrote: > Date: Tue, 31 Jan 2006 13:05:46 -0600 > From: "Michael Michalski" <m.michalski@comcast.net> > Subject: iPOD Question > > This may have already been asked, if so I apologize in advance. Here is more information from http://www.cssmotorsports.com/hawk_material_descrp.htm : HT8 "High torque pad with a flat mu plot". Excellent brake modulation characteristics. Designed for a wide temperature range where stock rotors and calipers are used. Excellent pad for cross drilled rotors. Low pad and rotor wear rate. Recommended for Showroom 400F to 1400F I don't think they are available anymore (discontinued along with the Blues). I got a few HT14/10s and will be trying those out for this year. I used HT8s for 2 years without any issues. Brand New in box. First $155 (shipped brand new in box, both front and rear set via FedEx) takes it. A.L.

Yes, I suppose I could but I am just going to go with camber plates for now and remove the spacers that I have in the lower shock mount, that itself will give me enough clearance for a 245 or 250 width tire. -- Jamie Howton 2000 M5 1995 M3 Hampshire, IL

Since Alpine and others allow control of the iPod features directly from the radio itself through their iPod interface, you will be able to navigate and use your iPod much more effectively while on the move. Looking down at the little screen and using the thumbwheel is a PITA/dangerous when you are driving, especially with a 5 speed. :) -----Original Message----- From: Michael Michalski [mailto:m.michalski@comcast.net] Sent: Tuesday, January 31, 2006 11:13 AM To: E36M3 Subject: [E36M3] iPOD Question Date: Tue, 31 Jan 2006 13:05:46 -0600 From: "Michael Michalski" <m.michalski@comcast.net> Subject: iPOD Question This may have already been asked, if so I apologize in advance. Hi Jay, The problem isn't the studs; its that the Rogue Brand 10mm spacers will not work with Kosei K1 wheels. The chamfer on the spacers is larger than the corresponding chamfer of the wheels so the wheels never sit flush with the wheel hub, they ride on the chamfer. This allows the wheels to move around while on track, the lug nuts/bolts loosen up and then snap. When I bought the spacers the Rogue website didn't mention this incompatability, I can only assume they didn't know about it. I did let Ben Liaw know that the problem exists and he has since added a note to his website. I have also talked to at least three other people off list who had this exact same thing happen with the identical setup. I discovered the problem while rounding turn 14 at Road America, I heard a loud crack, I pulled into the pits to find two wheel bolts broken, the other three were loose. I replaced the bolts with some scrounged spares and the same thing happened the next session. I removed the spacers and have been fine ever since. Alpine has the new 9856 for $200 that has direct controls if you add the $30 cable. So you can choose the playlist/artist/song, etc., from the radio. I'm about ready to get a 9856. They just came out, but the ipod cable is not yet available. Should be a few more weeks. The interface is slow as hell, the text display crashes my deck, and Dension has stopped responding to my emails. Also, my ipod not infrequenty restarts while playing, leaving me with a 10-15 second gap in the music playback... I'm keeping it because its nice to have a charged ipod and be able to play tunes thru the stock stereo, but I recommend going with a new deck. - reid > Dension has the icelink, but it's close to $200. #10. [E36M3] iPOD Answer - from Wayne Miller
Top
Date: Tue, 31 Jan 2006 15:21:50 -0500 From: "Wayne Miller" <m3@waynemiller.com> Subject: [E36M3] iPOD Answer I installed the Dension IceLink Plus ( http://www.densionusa.com/icelink_info_bmw.htm ) into my E46M3 and I am very happy with the results. According to their Web site, it will work with E36M3's too but you have to confirm that for yourself. Not only can I connect my iPod Nano but the ID3 text DOES display on the radio screen and it charges the iPod too. The unit plugs into where the CD changer would be in the trunk (you can't have both) and it makes your iPod act as if it was the CD player. I purchased it directly from them so I could get the special connector for the Nano but since you don't have a Nano I would look at eBay because they sell for much less there. My only complaint is that the text displays whenever the iPod is playing even when I don't want the text to display and I want to see the time. I called them about this and a few months ago they said there was a software update due in a few weeks and I just called today and was told to call back in a few weeks. -Wayne -----Original Message----- From: Michael Michalski [mailto:m.michalski@comcast.net] Sent: Tuesday, January 31, 2006 2:13 PM To: E36M3 Subject: [E36M3] iPOD Question Date: Tue, 31 Jan 2006 13:05:46 -0600 From: "Michael Michalski" <m.michalski@comcast.net> Subject: iPOD Question This may have already been asked, if so I apologize in advance.
