It's called simply Stop Leak, or something similar, and is a green liquid that used cactus extracts to find your leak instead of plugging up passages and heater cores. We used countless bottles for quick fixes at the BMW shop I used to manage....never had a problem. NAPA auto parts had it. It consists of some big tablets you crush up and dump in the coolant. It is made of cellulose - ie - wood. Powdered wood. The idea being it circulates in the coolant until it finds air - where it hardens up (sealing the leak..) It seemed to work in my old '91 525i that had a very slow leak somewhere that I never tracked down. That said - the leaking radiator is very likely to fail catastrophically in the very near future - the slow leak is a wakeup call. It's the equivalent putting some very fine sand in the engine. It settles to the bottom of the engine, no easy way to get it out short of taking it apart and running a lot of water under high pressure thru there. #7. Wide Noise... - from Nate Thuerk

Date: Wed, 8 Feb 2006 14:21:34 -0500 From: Nate Thuerk <nthuerk@gmail.com> Subject: Wide Noise... As of late my passenger side, rear view mirror has been making some periodic wind noise. It only happens above 50mph. When I have a passenger press the "triangle" on the interior side forward the wind noise goes away. This seems to point to a poor seal at the corner piece. After an inspection in the garage nothing seems to be out of the ordinary. Is there any way to adjust this piece so that it seals properly? Has anyone had similar issues? Thanks for any help! Have not started the project but wondered if anyone had done this and what is involved. I guess there is something in the pan that needs to be moved. (i.e. cut original weld, weld someplace else) Any input would be great. Was also going to do the oil pump nut. Any opinion on either: MIG tack weld nut on or the safety wired nut. --Bill 96 M3 red

Loc-Tite the nut and center-punch the exposed screw threads. That way it can come off, with effort, if you ever need to (BTDT).
