I have a local source for many of my BMW parts, but in this case it was more convenient (and cheaper) to order on-line. I ordered an O2 sensor for the 325is around Noon on Tues and chose 2-day delivery to make sure I had it by Fri. Unfortunately a tracking number never appeared. Hmmm. Door bell rang this morning (Wed) at about 8:30AM - O2 sensor was delivered. Nice! Jim Bassett 1998 M3/4 1993 325is #44 JP - O2 sensor related stumbling cost me my grid position on Sat :-(

I got conflicting info as to whether the engine would run lean or rich with the O2 sensor disconnected, so I left it in. Letting the car idle for ~20 minutes prior to heading out on track seemed to keep it from stumbling (a guess, as the only time I *didn't* do that was before Sat's race :-)). The CE still kept coming on throughout the sessions, but I experienced no driveability issues. (This is a remnant of the New Year's Eve flooding. Car went back & forth to my mechanics TWICE without even a CE light. Figured it was OK. Apparently not <g>. Had qualified 14/21, finished 13th despite starting at the back :-)) Jim Bassett

Car wanted to stall. So I pulled out of the way until the car figured out what the h*ll it wanted to do :-) It happened as we went from pre-grid down to pit lane to start the race. I stopped at the T12 corner worker there on pit lane. Whether I could have or not, I was NOT going to try to reclaim my grid position ala "I was SEVENTH!" :-) Supposition as to the cause on my part as the car was throwing "O2 sensor" CE lights all weekend. And I had several of those faults post-flooding, but the they didn't re-appear until the race weekend (see other post). Regardless, it's getting fixed this weekend :-) Jim Bassett

I just placed an order to replace my whole cooling system; hopefully my experience is the same. Drive Safely, Raza

There German Shephard is a stinky/scary SOB, but other than that I'm very pleased with them. Next time I'll take the sheltie and feed her to him. Date: Wed, 8 Feb 2006 16:45:52 -0500 From: Chris Gant <cgant@cox.net> Subject: RE: Subject: Anyone install VAC oil pan baffle? The stock baffle needs to be removed. You'll just need to drill out the one spot weld, and then spot weld the new baffle in it's place. Very simple... we'll unless you don't have the resources to weld aluminum. I'd go with the drilled oil pump nut. $10 from Bimmerworld and it doesn't damage the threads or put any stress on the oil pump shaft... which can also break/shear off. VAC also convienently sells a high quality oil pump shaft for those who are extremely paranoid.
