As well, and coincidentally, my wife owns an embroidery company. While she can't help on screen printing, if folks were interested, I could have her put together a quote for an embroidered polo-style shirt as well. And since I'm sleeping with the owner, I'm convinced I'll get insider pricing! ;) If you think there would be interest, just let me know and send me whatever artwork you have. Before the track/race season gets underway. "You have a choice of color, Black, or Black". Henry Ford on the colors of the Model T.... I will get a price together and post it in a week or so. Probably do a nicer quality T shirt this time. I wasn't to happy with my T shirt :-( More to come Gary Gray __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Tired of spam? Yahoo! Also, perhaps a lighter color since it will probably be really hot and sunny out when it is worn. I found someone to make me some stainless steel pistons. I sent him my originals and he did the rest. I received my caliper pistons today. Man, they are beautiful! They look fantastic and fit perfectly. You can see some photos of the new and old pistons and my calipers with the pistons sitting in the bore here: http://photos.yahoo.com/larry_bar56 Click on the Stainless Pistons Album. (It's the only one ;-) Here is the contact information if you want to purchase your own: John Farrell 57D Alder St. W. Babylon, NY 111704 800-454-7977 http://www.fortunecity.com/silverstone/tread/1046/id23.htm The website is a bit annoying because of all the silly ads but the best thing to do is call John, he's a great guy, and tell him you want caliper piston(s) for an E36 M3. Tell him Larry sent you. He'll remember me. Now that he's had my originals to use as a template he made something like 250 of them, so he has them in stock. I get no special bonus or treatment for this. I just want John to know that I appreciate the great job he did and hopefully some you will send him some business. The fronts were $38 and the rears were $25 each. Really very reasonable pricing. If you have any questions feel free to e-mail me or call John directly. #9. RE: [E36M3] RE: Caliper Pistons - from Patrick Goss - PA

Date: Wed, 1 Mar 2006 08:10:58 -0600 From: "Patrick Goss - PA" <Patrick_Goss@GMACM.COM> Subject: RE: [E36M3] RE: Caliper Pistons Very cool, and thanks, you're going to make a lot of list members happy I'm sure. I have a question thou, does anybody know exactly what the original ones are made of? I've often wondered how much caliper pistons can actually wear, (I know they can get groves in them (from past experience)). Has anybody measured new ones vs ones with say 100K on them? If they do indeed wear, will stainless necessarily wear less or more than the oem ones. Stainless isn't exactly 100% impervious to corrosion or pitting either is it? At least when you buy hardware, you don't get SS for exterior apps, you get the coated stuff, (what's that called again)? Lawerence how many miles on your pistons that you sent in to have these made? Probably doesn't matter, just wondering if the precision is there myself? They tell you not to hone and rebuild wheel cylinders for this reason, and well, I wonder if the same tolerance is really that critical? I see the true value here is that they are available, where the original ones aren't so much it seems by recent posts. At the prices you posted, I'll probably get a set to put back for when I rebuild my calipers in the evident future.
