Then again, you guys probably use less salt there and probably don't even bother to plow, instead opting to let it just pack in. We always plow here and use TONS of salt. Thanks, Mark

#4. For Sale, Factory MP3 Changer (1996-2002 cars, or any ai net alpine head unit car) - from Peter

Was going to install in my car, but now need the cash. Bought for $200+ shipping, hoping to sell for what I've got in it ($200). Will come with the AiNet cable (for alpine heads) To work with the factory radio, it will need a BMWALP1 adapter, available from crutchfield for $80, or I will include one, for $80. With this it plugs directly into the factory head unit wiring (in the trunk) and actually mounts where the factory changer does (especially on e36 cars). I have an aftermarket alpine head unit (9835) so I did not need this adapter. Good solution for MP3s on factory radio. Will sell whole package for $285 shipped (touching states). Guaranteed not DOA. Can also include factory mounts (e36 or e39) for alpine changers (including carpet covers) and extra magazines - uses same magazine as stock changer. Email for info. Thanks, Peter

I have a 1995 M3 that is about to have the Eurosport Twin Screw supercharger installed. The advertised HP is approx 360 whp and 302ft lbs. tq. I would like to make that 400 at the wheels in the future. Car Details: The car is NOT a daily driver, I plan to use it for a couple of auto-x events per year, I DO plan to take it to the local ¼ mile track at least a few times per month. (this is where most of the abuse will come from) obviously. I have researched until my eyes turned blue. I want to go with UUC since they seem to be reasonably priced with a good product. So should I go with the “Performance Organic” “Cerametallic” ort the “Multipack ceramic” Any and all advice is appreciated. Help! W. Wallace

They're easy to replace while you're in there, so check them ALL and replace the ones that need it. BTW if your idler pulley (small one by the main tensioner pulley) ever goes out [i.e. seizes and explodes like mine did] on the main serpentine belt, you can swap the air conditioner tensioner pulley in a pinch to get home. They're the same size. You can also install the new belt without removing the fan if you need to. Takes a bit of fiddling to get it around the fan blades, but very doable. #11. check coolant message - from Bruce
Top
Date: Tue, 7 Mar 2006 17:13:21 -0600 From: "Bruce" <gobuffs93@comcast.net> Subject: check coolant message I have been fighting a check coolant message when I turn the car off for months. Somebody told me that there is air in the system. I have bled it a number of times but the message is still there (but only when I turn the car off). I check the level and it is fine. The somebody told me to turn the car to position 2 (do not turn the car on), turn the heater on full blast, and pour coolant in while keeping the bleed screw open. Well when the car is not running the coolant isn't circulating so it doesn't seem to get any air out. If I come home when the car is warm and open the bleed screw air comes out, but when I close it it sounds like there is a leak. I can't tell exactly where but it in the coolant tank or thermostat area. I get coolant to come out, but if I do it after the next drive there is air there again. I am wondering if my problems could be caused by a crack in the coolant overflow bottle? Any other ideas? Thanks, Bruce

Date: Wed, 8 Mar 2006 13:49:31 -0500 From: "Ahmad Lutfeali" <m3_racer99@hotmail.com> Subject: Damper options Gruppe, I need to change the dampers on the street car, which is currently riding on 90K miles stock struts/dampers. This will be a 100% street car where comfort and reliability factor is high. I know there are Konis and Bilsteins. I do not want to deal with strut cutting etc. so Koni is out. I definitely like the lifetime warranty which Bilsteins offer but the trade off is a stiffer ride. Next I have heard of Monroes. Do these Monroes come with lifetime warranty as well? Any other options? Thanks in advance. Ahmad

I've got one of the very first Conforti CAIs. I swear I remember people having fitment problems with the larger ellipsoid lights and as a result Conforti modified the intake tube (shorter?). Can anyone confirm this? Am I mistaken? I called Eurosport and spoke to someone (Paul?) who had to put me on hold to get answers from someone else. He said the tubes are all the same design. I guess I just wasn't very convinced. Thanks, Mike

Date: Fri, 10 Mar 2006 00:31:01 -0500 From: Mo Karamat <karamatm@optonline.net> Subject: Oil pan baffle - Which to buy VAC/Turner? Dear All, Evening.. Before we put the new (to me) engine into the race car, I want to tighten the oil pump nut, and install a oil pan baffle. I beleive that there are 2 choices.. Both are priced at ~$200. Does anyone have an opinion about the VAC baffle Vs. The Turner version? The VAC version looks simpler to install (1 piece unit). Any thoughts or experieces with either solution would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Mo
