I don't really noticed much extra vibration, if any. The diff bushing I replaced with a factory part. Mines a 95. ain't much more to a OBD1 than that. now a 96 has a more complicated system, so if it's an OBD1 conversion I have no idea. The old tank developed a leak. Has anyone removed the evaporative emissions? Any guidance out there with how to plumb it or what to remove? I'd like to get rid of the plumbing up to that additional tank in the rear quarter if possible. My brain's kinda worn out right now... So, at least for the next few days I can't think it out. It is a Prepared Class OBDI race car, BTW. Any ideas, DIY's, or maybe a reason to not do it? Thanks for any info, if it's out there. -Geoff Atkinson '95 M3 (awaiting the start of the winter projects) Other projects ************************************************* Please help support the E36M3 list by visiting our sponsors: Bimmerworld http://www.bimmerworld.com Turner Motorsport http://www.turnermotorsport.com Eurosport High Performance http://www.eurosporthighperformance.com Rogue Engineering http://www.rogueengineering.com Treehouse Racing http://www.treehouseracing.com Elephant Motorsports Inc. http://www.elephantmotorsports.com DIGEST INFORMATION: http://www.bmw-m.net/resources/digest_info.htm *************************************************

OK *that* is a really bad idea, do you change spark plugs with the engine running? ;-) OK so jokes aside the only way that I know that an airbag can deploy is by introducing electricity to the connector. Nowadays the connectors have a few more safe guards built into them than in the past. I've disabled a few at work and received training but I refuse to do that again, was a special request and we were in a jam and needed some inert side impact airbags. -Carlos.

Jim, Not a good idea, and I know you know that. It's like working under the car without jack stands. Anyway, it will cost many $$ to replace if it goes off and/or hurt you as well. Use one of those battery powered plug into cig-lighter hole devices to maintain tickle charge to OBC. just by two cents... If not, how about the NGK multi ground (bkr6equp)? I am planning on changing plugs on one stock 97 M3 US motor and one 97 OBDI conversion motor. Any ideas? Steve Fredericksburg, VA rowers41@aol.com

#10. REMINDER: Essential Part to keep in your car - from Ron & Brenya B.
Top
Date: Tue, 21 Mar 2006 12:57:09 -0600 From: "Ron & Brenya B." <rbuchals@hotmail.com> Subject: REMINDER: Essential Part to keep in your car All, I posted this info several years ago, but am repeating it because I was recently "saved" again as a result of following my previous advice. :-) ____________________________________________________________________________ To prevent being stranded somewhere, keep a spare radiator vent screw in your car at all times. The part number for the vent screw is: 17 1 11 712 788 This is the vent screw that is in the top of the radiator. It's made of plastic. These tend to get brittle over time, and will break. If it does, it will not be possible for your cooling system to pressurize, and your coolant will leak out. It's very cheap insurance (around $3.00). ____________________________________________________________________________ And, this part does not just fit the E36 M3. If you also own one of the following BMWs, get a vent plug for that car as well: Part 17111712788 (VENT SCREW) was found on the following vehicles: E30: Details on E30 E30 318i SEDAN E30 318i CONVERTIBLE E30 318is COUPE E31: Details on E31 E31 840Ci COUPE E31 840i COUPE E31 850Ci COUPE E31 850CSi COUPE E34: Details on E34 E34 525i SEDAN E34 525i TOURING E36: Details on E36 E36 318i SEDAN E36 318i CONVERTIBLE E36 318is COUPE E36 318ti COMPACT E36 320i SEDAN E36 323i COUPE E36 323i CONVERTIBLE E36 325i CONVERTIBLE E36 325i SEDAN E36 325is COUPE E36 328i SEDAN E36 328i COUPE E36 328i CONVERTIBLE E36 M3 SEDAN E36 M3 COUPE E36 M3 CONVERTIBLE E38: Details on E38 E38 740i SEDAN E38 740iL SEDAN E38 750iL SEDAN E38 740iLP SEDAN E38 750iLP SEDAN E39: Details on E39 E39 528i SEDAN E39 525i TOURING E39 525i SEDAN E39 528i TOURING E39 530i SEDAN E39 540i SEDAN E39 540iP SEDAN E39 540i TOURING E46: Details on E46 E46 320i SEDAN E46 323Ci COUPE E46 323Ci CONVERTIBLE E46 323i SEDAN E46 323i TOURING E46 325Ci COUPE E46 325Ci CONVERTIBLE E46 325i SEDAN E46 325i TOURING E46 325xi SEDAN E46 325xi TOURING E46 328Ci COUPE E46 328i SEDAN E46 330Ci COUPE E46 330Ci CONVERTIBLE E46 330i SEDAN E46 330xi SEDAN E46 M3 CONVERTIBLE E46 M3 COUPE E52: Details on E52 E52 ALPINA V8 ROADSTER E53: Details on E53 E53 X5 3.0i SUV E53 X5 4.4i SUV E53 X5 4.6is SUV E53 X5 4.8is SUV E83: Details on E83 E83 X3 2.5i SUV E83 X3 3.0i SUV E85: Details on E85 E85 Z4 2.5i ROADSTER E85 Z4 3.0i ROADSTER Z3: Details on Z3 Z3 Z3 1.9 ROADSTER Z3 Z3 2.8 ROADSTER Z3 Z3 M COUPE Z3 Z3 M ROADSTER Z3 Z3 2.5 ROADSTER Z3 Z3 2.5i ROADSTER Z3 Z3 2.8 COUPE Z3 Z3 3.0i COUPE Z3 Z3 3.0i ROADSTER (Thanks to realoem.com for this list) Hope this helps! -rb
