This filter is significantly larger than the standard HFM/CAI system. Sorry, I don't know the model for the standard setup. I bought a replacement from Josh in December 2004. Fortunately, there was no supply problem then, perhaps because of the larger size? Any explanation from Josh? I have always enjoyed great service from him and would hate to think that the filters are out of production or no longer imported from Britain. Bob Dorchester 95 M3 Does anybody know the model# for the ITG filter included in the Conforti cold air intake system? I'm pretty sure it's a Maxogen JC60/XX, where XX = maybe 80? If I had one with me I could just measure it. Also, does anyone have a good source for just the filter (preferably in the Midwest)? I called Josh @ Eurosport and they've been out for weeks. I'm not sure they are part of the OBD II set of sensor requirements. Which brings up a question that's been on my mind, and may be related to yours. This scanner connects to the OBD II connector under the dash and does nothing for the service interval indicator or even mention the airbags or lights. Are the OBD II system and the round connector under the hood (I don't remember what its called and I'm too comfortable and lazy to get up to go look it up) related in any way? Anyway, the cost of the system (I forgot to mention it in my original post, is that a sign of old-timer's?) was around $100.00 for the software (with lifetime updates), the ISO (or any one of the other standard) interface, and cables. The kit with a universal interface is around $160.00. regards, r3 97 M3, Silver/Black 86 325, Red/Biege Stan Shaw <Stan.Shaw@Excell.Net> wrote: > I've just purchased a ProScan ISO interface and software from > http://www.myscantool.com/ . David Gore had sent me email last week about the new version - and that the BMW problems had been solved. I'll have to take a look at it and see if Satch will publish a quick update for the article in a future issue. Thanks! #10. easy question - from Brian Ruiz

Date: Sat, 25 Mar 2006 20:06:36 -0800 From: "Brian Ruiz" <eurowerke@gmail.com> Subject: easy question For anyone not in the Los Angeles area, you can ignore this message. :-P I was wondering if anyone on the list in the LA area that has a coilover setup would be willing to give me a ride to get a feel for your setup. I am afraid to drive my car on the roads around my home lately, as the heavy rains from past years have totally killed the overall condition of most of the streets, and my Bilstein Sport/HR OE Sport spring setup is ridiculously harsh (but it wasn't this bad on my old E36 325 with full H&R Sport springs...any ideas why?). I am afraid to hit the slightest break in the asphalt and I become immediately tense as I suddenly happen upon sharp changes from asphalt to concrete or vise-versa, not to mention potholes. The driver's side strut mount bolts are mushroomed out a slight bit already, and the passenger side is as well, but much less. I have no idea what to do, hoping that if I just change the shocks to a better setup, that despite the slight bending already present, everything will perhaps be okay. I sure wish whoever installed these shocks knew about the reinforcement plates; I picked up a set that I will install soon but I don't know if that will help much now... :'( Anyway, if anyone would be willing to give me a ride around, and lend any other advice about my situation, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks in advance. Brian 95 M3

#11. S50 valve retainer problem - from Brian Ruiz

Date: Sat, 25 Mar 2006 20:10:31 -0800 From: "Brian Ruiz" <eurowerke@gmail.com> Subject: S50 valve retainer problem Oh yeah, I was wondering if anyone had more information about the valve retainer problem. I know little about it other than that it was/is a problem. Was it ever solved during the production run, or is it only evident now after our cars have become older? Is there any way to know if my engine has had the retainers replaced other than to pull the valve cover? All these and more are in my head, just waiting for answers! Anyone care to elaborate for me? Thanks! Brian 8/95 build
