I'd expect nmt one day of labor (it'd take me two). So depending on your labor rates and parts it'd be in the $2K range. frankly given the shitty head gaskets on the 95s I'd r&r the head and replace the gasket with an aftermarket one. And, does the head have to be removed to perform the work? Local dealer quoted $3k for labor which included head removal. Sound steep to me. ************************************************* Please help support the E36M3 list by visiting our sponsors: Bimmerworld http://www.bimmerworld.com Turner Motorsport http://www.turnermotorsport.com Eurosport High Performance http://www.eurosporthighperformance.com Rogue Engineering http://www.rogueengineering.com Treehouse Racing http://www.treehouseracing.com Elephant Motorsports Inc. http://www.elephantmotorsports.com DIGEST INFORMATION: http://www.bmw-m.net/resources/digest_info.htm *************************************************

No head removal needed unless you lost pressure in the cylinder while the retainer was off, then you would have to retrieve the valve. #3. Secondary Air System Flow?? - from twisty M3

Date: Tue, 09 May 2006 19:10:17 -0700 From: "twisty M3" <twistym3@hotmail.com> Subject: Secondary Air System Flow?? I've been too busy (read cheap) to spring for new post-cat 02 sensors, so I've just been clearing the code once a week or so, just to be sure nothing else is hiding under that Check Engine light. Lucky me! I seem to have hit gold, but I don't know what exactly it is that I won. The code reader came up with "Secondary air system flow too low" for cylinders 1-3 and 4-6. Car is a '99 with 165K miles, but only 65K on the motor. Seems to be running fine both on the street and track (no hiccups over the weekend at Willow Springs). Anyone? Jonathan L.

There has been a groundswell of support for offering the items in something other than black, which is entirely understandable for those of us in the warmer climates (we live in Florida)! The leading candidate is white, in addition to black. That is doable. Instead of a white thread outline for the logo, it will be black. We can get white hats and visors as well as shirts, if that's what you are interested in. Other questions: 1. The long sleeve shirts will be polos as well. 2. I don't have Paypal (not a big auction person). 3. Larger sizes are available (2X, 3X and 4X), but at an upcharge. The supplier adds $4, $5 or $7 respectively, so my wife will too, just to cover the extra cost. That goes for short or long sleeve. As for the mechanics of the buy, please let me know what you would like as soon as you can. And then send me a check for the products plus shipping. In 2-3 weeks, my wife will place orders for the appropriate items and then get to work. Please drop me a line with any questions. Thanks, Tucker --- Theodore Serbinski <stanson@gmail.com> wrote: > Are the long sleeve shirts going to be polos or just > regular crew > shirts? > > What about getting the hats and shirts in white as > well? > > Thanks for setting this up, you and your wife rock! > > ted > > > On May 5, 2006, at 9:08 PM, Tucker Ryals wrote: > > > Otherwise, my thought is to take orders for 2-3 > weeks. > > At that end of that time, my wife will order the > > appropriate number of shirts, hats, and visors and > > then begin producing the items. I've followed the emails with interest, but it's hard to put together what exactly is available and what the costs are without reading back through every email. Since the rears are stock, I really don't need an aggressive track pad or my bias will slant way towards the front. I've heard that the OEM Porsche pads can be had very reasonably and seemed to work well at Road America. Other than the fact those #@*ing rotors with the holes make them disappear like cheese through a cheese grater in slightly more than a day! Does anyone know of a good source for OEM Porsche pads and rotors? Can you get the rotors without the bling-bling holes? Jeff Bjerke 98 M3 Coupe
