Insert a 6" long 3/8" drive extension down through the centre hole and fix an 11mm socket (for current Konis) on the end to engage the Koni shaft. Hold the 11mm socket stationary with a ratchet handle on the extension, then loosen the main shaft nut with a wrench applied to the 22mm socket flats. Hi Neil, Well, I just went out to the garage and found that my 22mm nut is a 19mm nut and I can't see an 11mm end on my Koni SA shaft. The top nut is new from the TC Kline adjustable camber plates. Sooooo, now what? Bob Gill 97 ///M3 coupe (sponsored by WCC & JT-Designs) Philly Region SCCA 2005 Philly Region BSP Champion

Wife's aunt hooked me up with a bottle of Laphroaig 15yr for Christmas, but I can't afford this when I'm rocking on my own dime. Bowmore is a bit more affordable and you can get a 1L bottle of Laphroaig 10yr at the duty-free stores in Canada for under $40 US. Thats doable. Kevin McLeaster '95M3 Arctic Silver, only 110Kmiles

The TKKline plates that I have have a custom aluminum nut that goes all the way to the top of the Koni, covering up the end of the shaft that has the flats that Neil describes. I'm not even sure that these DA's have them, but my Koni SA's did. In any case, the TCKline nut covers it up anyway. I had to resort to a short blip with the impact. I hated to do that, but I couldn't figure out anything else with this tall nut. I don't think the newer TCKline plates have this custom nut with the sleeve built in from what I have heard. Koni single adjustables. The externally adjustable rear shocks should be good and allow you to adjust rebound on the fly, but you'll have to cut access holes in the trunk interior to make it doable. Good luck! Unfortunately, they're not made for the E36. I have the Koni SA's set mostly to soft, plus the x-brace and 8.5's all around, on an otherwise stock suspension. It's a great setup for everyday driving and the occasional A/X. Ya know, these cars weren't exactly pigs off the showroom floor! Dave Hogg
