I don't know much of anything about BMW club racing, the different classes, what class you run in, that circuit, etc..., but maybe it isn't the car that's pulling away from you on the straights, but the driver of said car. Either way, I wish I was taking a gutted and caged E36 M3 to the track this weekend, instead of a stockish '93 Nissan Sentra (currently minus one starter). Ahmad's car is caged, but not gutted, he is running basically a full interior. The IP car is likely pretty much gutted. The IP car could have cams and other changes, plus is lighter. Me neither, and furthermore it's hard to get a good hit because the rear hub carrier your hammering on bounces around when you whack it. A threaded rod type puller seems like a better idea. Since I was able to improvise one from the VPD RTAB bushing tool plus some sockets, that makes two bushing tools for under $100 - not a bad deal. > Also: I've heard of some folks lubricating the outside of the RTAB before > pushing it in. Would the same thing apply to the RCAB? If so, what kind of > lube...I'm assuming a grease would work best. You don't want to use grease, since it stays, well, greasy indefinitely. Try a liquid dish detergent and water mix, which will dry out. Also works well directly on rubber. Neil 96 m3

#4. OEM BMW alarm questions... - from Kelvin

Date: Thu, 08 Jun 2006 14:46:24 -0700 From: Kelvin <yoda@obikwan.com> Subject: OEM BMW alarm questions... As you all know, I just picked up my '95 E36-M3. I just noticed something about the alarm. This is an dealer installed type of alarm. The old plug'n'play models. -the LED does not blink when I arm it (that should be easy enough to test to see if there is even power going to the LED or if the LED bulb is dead) I didn't even notice this initially because I saw the LED on the radio blinking. More interestingly, the alarm arms, the doors lock as should be the case. However, when I disarm the car, I get 3-chirps. 3-chirps indicates that something is wrong. But how do I tell what's wrong? Also, if I arm the car, and open a door or whatever, the alarm will not go off. So right now, the alarm is basically my keyless entry device. Any ideas what I should look at to figure out why it's beeping 3x upon disarming? Thanks!

Every time I'm driving my wife's Camaro and I get passed by a spec 7 my wife makes me go over to the spec 7 car and prove my claim that it has a C6R engine with a blower and nitrous. They always manage to put the rotary back in before we get there though! Or something like that. It takes 8 full quarts to fill up my 95 M3 after doing this. Gary PS - I also soak up the dirty oil in the oil filter housing with a paper towel and then pour new oil in there before filling the engine
