Wasn't that obvious? ;-) Actually I think Dave wanted a comparison which I can't offer other than 2nd hand stuff. A racer I know that had Hankook sponsorship dropped them (I believe) because: a) they didn't offer the tire in the compound he wanted in the size he needed for stock class racing b) the narrow tire offered wasn't fast enough In the end he stuck to Hoosiers but then again this is someone chasing after the Nat'l championship so YRMMV. This weekend one of the support series at Mid-Ohio is Pro Spec Miata or Miata challenge or whatever it's called now with the new Miatas, the one Chip Herr from Sports Car Revolution runs in. Anyway they're on Hankooks so I'll make sure and ask one of those racers about them. Should be a fun weekend, lots of racin'. Cheers, Carlos.

I look forward to a ride sometime soon ;) As for the shirts, I *believe* you missed the boat, a list member volunteered to do a run of shirts and send them out and such. Don't feel bad, though, I missed the boat as well; oh well, maybe next time. I've also gotta get myself one of those nifty list stickers some day.. would look good on the coupe! :) Seeya on 7/29, if I don't happen to run into you at the mall or something before then. - reid > So, being new to the list...Hi, everybody, My name's Jeff and I picked up a 98 M3-4 > about a month ago...I'm curious about the shirts. > > I apologize for not having gone through all the digests, but can someone give me a quick > rundown or link as to what they look like, and where/how I might get one (or more) if I like > then? Sounds good. I'm debating braving the Sat afternoon crowd at Sears Point to go watch the WC races. They do work, but the taller tire screws the gearing up for stock ratios. Yeah the V700 is a write-off. Best bet is to call Hankook and talk to Jeff (Motorsports). Yes the 211s are the RA1 type (comes 7-8/32) and the 214s are the Hooseurdaddy comparable. Even in the 214s, they have 2-3 different compounds, C70, C50, C30 (soft, medium, hard) for the autox guys, road course and DE Champions respectively. Hey they have a cash payout program with BMWCCA. If you win your class you get KookDollars ;) Check out their website. I think this has been on the low key since TireRack didn't want this advertised since they do not carry Kooks. I think in the future, you will see more of these out there. Tireshoppe.com has the best prices out there. I will be putting up a group buy soon, if anyone is interested, shoot me an email offline.
