#1. Dupp motor mount info - from Gary

Date: Thu, 29 Jun 2006 11:40:23 -0500 From: "Gary" <probikeguy@probikeusa.com> Subject: Dupp motor mount info I forgot the motor mounts.. All I can say is DAM those suckers are a PITA to put in!!! I put them in last night to make sure all my intercooler piping would still be right..After noticing they looked LARGER than the stock mounts...They aren't..and thankfully my mounts were not collapsed...Talk about a mess...Having to redo ic piping would be bad... They are LARGE and red! I have a set of the Ireland mounts too. SO I sat them side by side..HOLY CRAP!! Talk about a HUGE difference! The UUC mounts have probably twice the mass! Meaning they should be stiffer. They also have the factory contour. I have a set of Kmacs on my 535 they are okay but they are most defiantly not the same quality... I'll know more when I get them in the car. I don't know about how much camber they will give. I don't plan on running over -2 degrees anyway. I'll take some pictures of them assembles and apart. Actually you don't need to align to 325 specs, and why would you. The 95 M3 uses the same strut mount as the 325, the difference is in the control arm bushing which gives the car the castor change. The 96+ M3 uses a different strut mount to give the same castor change and a centered lower bushing. You can use the top 96+ mounts swapped left to right to get more negative camber and more castor change, with the 95 lower control arm offset bushing. ( I have this on my 95 M3, works great) So the SPC mount can be adjusted to the M3 settings hopefully with more negative camber. They are some really nice mounts. Much nicer than the K macs on my 535is turbo. They are the same..Mine came with SPC on them... ;-) 50 bucks cheaper... I would still have bought them from UUC, they support the bimmer forums and our BMW community. I try to buy stuff from supporting vendors as much as possible. Without them life might be boring..no lists, no forums.... :-) Gary ----- Original Message ----- From: "Chester Wong" <chester_p_wong@yahoo.com> To: "E36M3" <e36m3@bmw-m.net> Sent: Thursday, June 29, 2006 1:36 PM Subject: Re: [E36M3] These guys have a good price on camber plates. > Date: Thu, 29 Jun 2006 11:30:31 -0700 (PDT) > From: Chester Wong <chester_p_wong@yahoo.com> > Subject: Re: [E36M3] These guys have a good price on camber plates. > > Wow...the picture looks exactly identical between the SPC one and the UUC > one...well, of course with the SPC logo taken off. Date: Thu, 29 Jun 2006 15:04:21 -0400 From: "Jack - Elephant Motorsports" <jack@elephantmotorsports.com> Subject: Speaking of camber plates, FS items Selling a pair of Ground Control race version camber/caster plates for E36 (of course). Used about a year, mostly track, some street. I don't know the mileage as they were removed from a customer car but it's not much, guessing 6-8k tops. They are in good condition, a couple scratches here and there. The bearings seem to be in good condition, rotating smoothly. I'd certainly recommend cleaning them up for use but otherwise they're fine. They come with perches, I think for 2.25" springs but I'll have to confirm that, they might be 60mm. Anyway, all parts are present so you can install them and go. Asking $270 shipped anywhere in the lower 48. Also have a pair of VAC rear lower control arms, adjustable for camber with sphearical bearing inner end. Same as above for use and condition. Asking $240 shipped anywhere in the lower 48.
