This is the unit lauded on this list for the best factory replacement head unit. It took me quite a while to find one of these that had every feature working on it. Several of these on eBay have had this or that wrong with it. One worked fine for radio but the CD drive mechanism was faulty and would only work occasionally. Given that information, here is the list of stuff that comes with the unit: ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Pre-wired for 96-99 3 series (plug and PLAY, not plug and pray) - I've done all the soldering for you to a BMW specific wiring harness. Two faceplates (both have normal wear and tear but no significant scratches on the face) One faceplate case (plastic case to hold the detached face) One remote control (RUE-4187) Two Installation brackets One trim ring (black plastic cover that hides the installation bracket) The unit itself (of course) ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Installation/Instruction manual here: http://www.melsilva.net/documents/cda-7894_om.pdf Use this hyper-link to see all the features and specs. http://www.crutchfield.com/S-pKx2aPq5w5z/cgi-bin/ProdView.asp?I=500CDA7894 ------------------------------------------------------------------------ I paid just under $200 for this unit a year ago and I'm just looking to put some liquid cash back into my 'fun fund', so make your best offer. I would rather sell here, but will eBay if nobody is interested. I will take some pictures and post them on request. Shipping from Houston, TX Mel

#3. does the sunroof liner tilt? - from Dave Thomas
Top
Date: Sun, 9 Jul 2006 13:37:43 -0700 From: Dave Thomas <dave@sasdatalink.com> Subject: does the sunroof liner tilt? I needed to fix a few things on our sunroof so I pulled the whole assembly out of the car earlier today. Not a real tough job. I had been told that removing the headliner was a pita...but it was actually very easy. Wish I had done it sooner. Anyway, when the sunroof is tilted up in the rear, is the liner supposed to tilt up with it? I always assumed ours was broken (liner was sliding freely) and that's why it does not lift with the sunroof, but looking at the sunroof mechanism, it looks like the liner is supposed to remain flat. Is that the case? If so...why does the sunroof even tilt if the liner just stays put? This is a Jan 95 car if that matters. Thanks, Dave

#4. CD43 for sale - from Gus Iverson
Top
Date: Sun, 9 Jul 2006 14:23:36 -0700 From: "Gus Iverson" <gus.iverson@gmail.com> Subject: CD43 for sale I picked one up off eBay only to find I had purchased the version which *does not* have support for the 6-disc CD changer. I plugged it in and verified it works, and sounds better than the C33, but other than that it is as I recieved it. It's used, obviously, and out of Germany so it's got a german manual and such but it has it's unlock code and it works properly. If anyone is interested, I'm willing to take a loss on the thing as I'm moving to the Alpine unit w/iPod interface instead (just bought an iPod). I paid $360 plus shipping which seems to be the going rate. Asking $300 obo plus shipping.

I am not real sure what is wrong with the sunroof mechanism in our car, I did not see anything broken like I have on other BMW sunroofs. Everything just seems fairly worn. I just put the whole thing back in the car and plan on hitting the BMW dealer on Monday to order all the little bits they sell for it. I guess I'll get it sorted next weekend. Thanks again, Dave
