Dunno, but if you're selling one, I'll come pick it up. No shipping required. :-) Jim Bassett - of no real help today; is it Fri yet? :-)

Heck, there are list sponsors that have copied or ripped off others designs for that matter. Some may claim they "bettered" them or altered this or that, but on some things there really is very little to change in order to be different for the sake of being different. Regards, Rich - no interest or affiliation with any aftermarket parts or sponsors.

Hey Steve, I happened to have the CD43 out of my wife's M Coupe and it weighs 3.4 pounds on my fancy digital postage scale. I would add a couple more pounds for nice heavy duty packaging and that should do it. Rex - M3less in Silicon Valley

#9. Coupe vs sedan shift boots? - from Peter Loron

Date: Fri, 14 Jul 2006 07:32:07 -0700 From: "Peter Loron" <peterloron@gmail.com> Subject: Coupe vs sedan shift boots? I'm in need of a new shift boot. Mine has a hole in it, is detached from the knob, and is drooping down the stalk. I've found one I can get for $45 that appears to be in decent shape, but it's from a coupe. Mine is a sedan. Anybody know if they're the same part? Thanks. Pete 98 M3/4

Date: Fri, 14 Jul 2006 10:43:38 -0400 From: "Wayne Miller" <m3@waynemiller.com> Subject: OT: (Still car related) Why I love my wife... I know it isn't E36M3 related but I just had to share this with a list of car people who may find it interesting. This was one of those projects that sat around for many years with no work on it and then once I decided to finish it I had to wait longer than expected for each step but now after about 15 years my coffee table is about 95% done! I don't even remember where I got the idea way back when I bought the Cadillac V8 engine in the early 1990's but here is what my mostly finished coffee table looks like: www.efwperformance.com/V8/Table1.jpg www.efwperformance.com/V8/Table2.jpg www.efwperformance.com/V8/Table3.jpg There are a few more things to be done: - Make it so the bottles can go in the other way - I figured out how to do it but I just have to create the pieces necessary - Find a better way to attach the glass to the pistons - Clean up the cam shaft and put that through the middle of the V - Take better pictures - these were taken at night with the flash Notes about the table: - This is an aluminum Cadillac 4.1 liter V8 - it isn't too heavy - maybe 30 lbs - The cylinder liners are cast iron so they probably add 20 lbs - I lined the cylinder liners with felt to protect the wine bottles - The pistons had to be cut to allow the sharp angle of the connecting rods - The glass is 3/8" thick and is tempered Thank you to Metal Man Restoration for the great work polishing the block, pistons and rods, Kosson Glass for the glass, my dad for helping make the wooden base and ideas for the whole thing and to Rachel for allowing me to have this in our New York City apartment. -Wayne
