Very cool Wayne, this reminds me of one of my projects. 2 nightstands, made from genuine volk racing wheels (bent but only on the inner lip). I found threaded rod and fashioned legs which fasten through the wheel nuts, topped off with a nice tuner center cap. I used glass from the dept store, and in this state we have been using them for 3 or 4 years. My next mod is to install cross drilled rotors and painted calipers, which are stored in the garage waiting to be cleaned at this point. One day the whole package will go on ebay, as each passing month it gets harder to justify how it doesn't match the rest of the bedroom furniture. In your case, you have a wine rack, so you have extra utility which comes in handy! I know it isn't E36M3 related but I just had to share this with a list of car people who may find it interesting. This was one of those projects that sat around for many years with no work on it and then once I decided to finish it I had to wait longer than expected for each step but now after about 15 years my coffee table is about 95% done! I don't even remember where I got the idea way back when I bought the Cadillac V8 engine in the early 1990's but here is what my mostly finished coffee table looks like: www.efwperformance.com/V8/Table1.jpg www.efwperformance.com/V8/Table2.jpg www.efwperformance.com/V8/Table3.jpg There are a few more things to be done: - Make it so the bottles can go in the other way - I figured out how to do it but I just have to create the pieces necessary - Find a better way to attach the glass to the pistons - Clean up the cam shaft and put that through the middle of the V - Take better pictures - these were taken at night with the flash Notes about the table: - This is an aluminum Cadillac 4.1 liter V8 - it isn't too heavy - maybe 30 lbs - The cylinder liners are cast iron so they probably add 20 lbs - I lined the cylinder liners with felt to protect the wine bottles - The pistons had to be cut to allow the sharp angle of the connecting rods - The glass is 3/8" thick and is tempered Thank you to Metal Man Restoration for the great work polishing the block, pistons and rods, Kosson Glass for the glass, my dad for helping make the wooden base and ideas for the whole thing and to Rachel for allowing me to have this in our New York City apartment. -Wayne ************************************************* Please help support the E36M3 list by visiting our sponsors: Bimmerworld http://www.bimmerworld.com Turner Motorsport http://www.turnermotorsport.com Eurosport High Performance http://www.eurosporthighperformance.com Rogue Engineering http://www.rogueengineering.com Treehouse Racing http://www.treehouseracing.com Elephant Motorsports Inc. http://www.elephantmotorsports.com DIGEST INFORMATION: http://www.bmw-m.net/resources/digest_info.htm *************************************************

Don't know about bore diameter, but they seal differently to the manifold (but same bolt pattern), the throttle cables and their quadrants are located differently (although the cables are the same) and the M52 TB has provision for the ASC+T secondary TB bracket (would that fit the M50? - dunno). From your point of view the important thing is the sealing between the TB and the M50 manifold. The M50 carries the O-ring in the manifold, the M52 in the TB. Eurosport supplies a thin laser-cut plate to go between them. The other issues with the manifold substitution are the differing vacuum line and accessory device connections. Easiest thing is to buy the very well thought out adapter kit from josh at Eurosport. Neil 96 M3

#10. Flow rate of the factory injectors - from Chris Teague
Top
Date: Fri, 14 Jul 2006 17:59:23 -0700 From: "Chris Teague" <cteague@cox.net> Subject: Flow rate of the factory injectors I have a friend with a 1995 M3. He had his injectors cleaned and blueprinted, and the were tested to be 168cc/min. If my math is correct, the factory spec is: 17.5 lbs/hr x 10.5=184cc/min. When they run the car on the dyno, it has an A/F ratio of around 14, so it's running lean. It has the 3.2 US headers, and a high flow cat, and a high flow exhaust, Conforti CAI, and a Conforti Chip. Otherwise, it's a stock motor. He has replaced the fuel pressure regulator, and fuel pump, with no change at all. He added a split sec piggyback controller for the MAF sensor, and while that made a slight difference, it's still running lean. He called AA, and they said they can burn him a chip, but he would need either larger injectors, or and adjustable fuel pressure regulator to increase pressure to solve the fuel issue. Problem is, he runs SCCA STU AutoX, and he must use factory injectors and FPR. Has anyone else seen this issue? I'm surprised there is a fuel delivery issue on such a stock motor. I'm curious why the injectors don't seem to put out the rated spec. Or is that normal? thanks, Chris 97 M3/4
