Every single c-dan I've found has always had the sport leather seats. If it is an option you're likely to loose many other creature comforts, like CC, heated seats, HK upgrade, sunroof etc....have you thought about that? Patrick Goss M3/4 slippy leather, but everything else. -----Original Message----- From: Rex Tener [mailto:rex_tener@yahoo.com] Sent: Tuesday, July 18, 2006 1:36 PM To: E36M3 Subject: [E36M3] WTB: E36 M3 Sedan 1997 1998 M3/4 Alpine White Manual Date: Tue, 18 Jul 2006 10:26:41 -0700 From: Rex Tener <rex_tener@yahoo.com> Subject: WTB: E36 M3 Sedan 1997 1998 M3/4 Alpine White Manual Transmission I am doing a search for an E36 M3 Sedan. I know ... I am going to the dark side after five years with my 1995 M3 and ten years with my 1996 M3. I am looking for the following: E36 M3 Sedan Alpine White exterior Black interior Manual Transmission Fold down rear seats Less than 80K miles Original owner, non-sunroof, cloth interior, and full service record cars are big plusses. I am located in the SF Bay Area, but I am willing to travel for the right car. I know these cars exist in garages of enthusiasts (like one of my neighbors). To help find the car I will pay a $250 finder fee to the first person that refers me to the car that I subsequently purchase. Yeah, I don't car about cruise, heated seats, sunroof, or HK. :-) The likely hood of finding a zero option 1997/1998 M3 sedan in Alpine White with black interior for sale approaches the odds of me winning the California lottery. :-( So, I am willing to compromise on options except for the manual transmission and fold down rear seats. Rex - I should have ordered one in 1997 when I had the chance.

I tried to order an M3 in 1996 withOUT a sunroof in Dallas. None of the local dealers would even talk to me. I also asked about ordering cloth seats but that got me hysterical laughter. Who needs a hole in the roof when it is 104 degrees and sun beating down?!?! I ended up buying a used 1995 M3 with 2,000 miles. I wasn't going to pay $1,200 pure profit to BMW for a silly hole in the roof that I never use. I bet I have had my sunroof open fewer than 20 times in 10 years. The last time I think I opened it to throw an apple core into the ditch. Lowell Seaton '95 Alpine White/Black Leather/Sunroof $1,200/OBC $500/Cruise Control $475 P.S. I am still kicking myself for not buying the '95 LTW. Classic BMW in Richardson had one on display/sale for almost a year that they couldn't sell. It had a sticker price of $45K or something close. I just kicked the tire and the salesman offered it for $35K. I could have gotten him down to $30K in a heartbeat. But who wants a car in Texas without air conditioning? I wasn't that crazy!! I can look in my chart at home tonight. (I thought > there was an electronic version of the code charts out on the 'Net > somewhere - might Google or search the list archives). There is, even Peake Research doesn't provide a link for it from their site and in their FAQ they require you to contact them instead. [kicking self sound] And no radio sheesh. :-) Have a friend who bought one in '97 off the showroom for about $32K, they honored the $1K rebate that BMW NA was offering to CCA members. Funny thing is he went into the dealership to buy a hat and left with a LTW. He still has it and it has only been wrecked once. ;-) -Carlos.
