#4. LTW Replica Wheels - from Kelvin

Date: Thu, 20 Jul 2006 08:03:28 -0700 From: Kelvin <mpower@obikwan.com> Subject: LTW Replica Wheels Does anyone have thoughts/opinions on the LTW replica wheels that are available on eBay? Trying to find an OE set seems all but impossible! I know they are not forged like the real deal (neither are my OE DSI wheels), however the offset is correct on them (I think!). Also, I'm not sure if the center bore is correct. Any comments on finish, quality, durability, fitment, etc? The local Mountain View, CA dealer used to charge $3.50 a quart, lately they've remodeled and demand $8 or so. Do you folks find it worthwhile to mailorder this stuff, or is the shipping just as bad? LOL Peter, remember these aren't economy cars:) I've been getting 20-22 mpg mixed and I drive approaching the aggressive to azzhole side of the spectrum. This is with my 97 M3/4 98K miles Mobile One 0w-40 5speed with stock gearing Calculated using a real calculator factoring in adjustment for 255 tire size. You are going to get many answers from this group on mileage depending on year of car (different rear ends), degree of mods, driving style, automatic or manual trans, tires sizes, and method of calculation, as the OBC seems to come up with different results vs. the old school arithmetic more often than not. Responding to poor economy, I know new coils and plug wires are on my wish list to improve things in my case, (not all mine match believe it or not). Most of us I believe are keeping up with regular plug changes, so perhaps check general tune of engine, and maybe consider checking your compression if you are burning oil much, which if you are is probably some of the equation. There are probably other items of age/wear which are affecting economy as well which I haven't listed. I don't know what the EPA rated these cars new on the window sticker, but I bet somebody knows here!!
