#2. trunk wiring problems - from David Flanary

Date: Thu, 27 Jul 2006 13:45:19 -0700 From: "David Flanary" <Dflanary@markhamvineyards.com> Subject: trunk wiring problems One of the rear license -plate lights on my car does not work. The bulk is not the problem. Also, I occasionally get a "check circuit" message on the OBC. I also have a brake light switch message on the OBC. I was looking at realoem.com for the brake light switch part number, and I discovered that there is a "trunk wiring repair harness" for our cars (p/n 61 128 391 788 $107.69). Since I am trying to sort these problems out, I this would be a good way to do so. I don not like the idea of cutting into the existing trunk harness to try to fix it, and REALLY don't like the idea of the wires shorting out. Your thoughts??

#3. torn door seal - from David Flanary
Top
Date: Thu, 27 Jul 2006 13:57:00 -0700 From: "David Flanary" <Dflanary@markhamvineyards.com> Subject: torn door seal The driver's door seal on my '99 ///M managed to get torn. The tear is about 1-2" from the top of the "B" pillar. This is where the material thickness changes. Apparently, the window caught on it when it was closing - I heard a noise when it happened. Perhaps my window alignment has somehow gone off, as I have religiously used Gummiphlege on these seals for 7 years thinking I would escape this. Before I replace the seal, which is a $200 part, are there any ways to mend this seal? I normally don't like to band-aid things together, but I thought I would ask the group. I tried tape, but it doesn't adhere to my well-gummiphleged seal at all. The sad part is that other than this tear, the seal is in great shape. Any comments, BTDT? Dave 99///M3 100K yesterday!

They will tighten up the front very nicely. Of course, use the same centered style as the original bushings. Unless the 328 bushings are offset (?), then use those. I know my 93 325 bushings were centered, so I assume the same on your wife's car. Brian build 8/95

My daily driver is the last in line to get maintained and I had that problem recently. Ended up replacing both Control arms and tie rods - I would imagine that play in one accelerates wear to the other. You can use the M3 arms. Meyle has arms made to the non-M part number, heat treated ball joints. We have tested them on track for a couple of years with zero issues. And the price is pretty sweet also. Date: Tue, 01 Aug 2006 08:41:29 -0700 From: Kelvin <mpower@obikwan.com> Subject: Lamin-X vs. Stoneguard All, Any comments on Lamin-X vs. Stoneguards? Any difference between the 2? Are there any yellowing problems with either of these? I'm leaning towards the Lamin-X setup because one of the vendors has a foglight/headlight combo. Any words of wisdom? Or both of these options are a waste? Thanks!
