I have yet to try Circle and/or BMW of Chattanooga (Brian.Scroggins@bmwofchattanooga.com) but they were recently offered as contacts on local PSRCCA BB. The current NA List price on them is $335/ea, I sell them for $269/ea, Genuine Factory BWM parts. Generally speaking I sell most any Genuine factory part for 20% off BMW List...off true list, not matrix pricing. Cheers. A lot of '95 M3's that are 2nd or 3rd owner have probably had a new head or engine....seems like once a week someone was bending valves from overrev & got new retainers in the process. And if you haven't had 'em installed...then you probably already have slightly bent valve stems (I think I had 6-7 slightly bent...they straightened them. ....I think you might think again about not pulling the head....it's a great time to do some real work on it if you plan to keep the car and it sounds like you will. -------------------------- Skip, You are kind of pessimistic about '95 M3's aren't you? Several points of clarification. Why do you think the valve retainers would be replaced with the valves? I'd argue very rarely or never would retainers be replaced. The retainers are not damaged in an over rev and bent valves. You had 6 or 7 bent valves and they straightened them? I didn't know you straightened valves. I thought you just replace them with new. You think nearly every '95 M3 on the street has bent valves and the owner doesn't know? I would think if you had bent valves, you would know it. You would be down on power for sure. Bottom line? Rick - I would replace the valve springs and valve retainers while you have the valve cover off. It can't hurt - a little preventive maintenance. Lowell Seaton '95 M3 - bent valves BTDT

#9. suspension overhaul - from Hunt Hodgetts

Date: Fri, 11 Aug 2006 07:25:45 -0700 (PDT) From: Hunt Hodgetts <hhodgetts@yahoo.com> Subject: suspension overhaul My 97 M3 sedan has 177k miles and isn't handling like it used to. I'm planning a major suspension overhaul to include the following items: all 4 shocks & springs (Bilstein kit), front lower control arms (OEM) & offset busings (TMS), tie rods, rear lower control arm busings, reinforced upper rear shock tower mounts, trailing arm bushings, UUC swaybar kit. This M3 is my daily driver and will see 1-2 driver's schools a year. Am I missing any important items? Any suggestions on the most affordable way to source these parts? Thanks, Hunt Hodgetts, Atlanta
