I see it's connected to the bracket that the alternator is on so the vibrations could be coming from the alternator or the pulley itself. I sprayed a little bit of lube into the back of the pulley but it didn't seem to shut it up. Hestitant to spray any near the belt or the alternator though. I'd prefer not to spend $200+ on the alternator before it's due. Especially since I'll be doing the water pump this time around too. Any ideas for better diagnosing what the issue is (before disassembly anyway). If it sounds even remotely like old fashioned roller skate bearings then it's bad. The louder it is the worse it is. It might seem to turn freely but under load it will be vibrating and might come apart. Marco -----Original Message----- From: Mark D. I replaced mine proactively at around 100K miles, I just went with stock replacements from the dealer. I think they were around $50 each. This is a very good take-it-to-the-track jack. Cheap, so you don't care (as much) if someone walks off with it and basically effective. Be VERY careful how you load it. Make sure the load is COMPLETELY over the full saddle surface. I have seen more than one saddle break off when the load was resting on only part of the saddle surface. - Mark ----- mark@pdc-racing.net Check out my JustRacing Home Page at: http://www.justracing.com/homepage/mdadgar
