I suspect until the inexpensive HF product came along that Brunnhoelzl was the leading producer of these rather pricey, at $600+, items. To add my experience to the mix, I've been using the original HF aluminum jack pretty much since it first came out. I was never going to be in the Brunnhoelzl market. I too have a couple of big 92 lb Lincolns at home, so the HF is for track and occasional extra use only. However this year I've bought (yet) another jack, the smaller frame racing jack from HF, currently only $79.99: <http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/displayitem.taf?Itemnumber=91039>. For those of us who have no trailer and squeeze all our track stuff into the car, the lighter weight and especially the smaller size of this unit is really useful. As always one should use these low cost products conservatively and consider them pretty much disposable. Have never had a problem and > been happy with the weight and performance of the piece. I have the 2 ton HF version which I think is a better built, more robust version and definitely worth the extra $$ over the 1.5 ton version. I have heard and seen enough of the HF 1.5 ton jacks failing or breaking to determine they aren't worth it in my opinion. The saddle is the part that typically breaks. Honestly, what can you expect from a $59 aluminum jack? They are basically disposable at that price but I really don't want to deal with a failure if it should occur, I don't need to break something on a car (or worse) because the jack fails. However, I've recently begun thinking about getting another > lightweight jack and am considering another HF lightweight jack but at > the same time, found a jack available at a shop called Stable Energies > not too far from my home called the Brunnhoelzl Warrior jack. I have used one before, they are quite nice, definitely a serious piece of equipment and well made. My only complaint was that the hydraulics were somewhat sensitive when lowering and you had to have a gentle touch (not unlike my AC jack too). My HF jack and Lincoln are both easier to control. I personally think it is tough to beat the HF 2 ton aluminum jack for the money. Regards, Rich

Kent you say they are not rare, but honestly how many do you see any longer that weren't driven hard and put away wet with low original miles. I regularly check the various portals of market, (ebay cars.com etc etc), very rarely do I see many 4 door M3 models for sale. These are great cars and the appeal has maintained if not even increased somewhat as numbers dwindle. The 330 4 door even in current mold isn't an M-car. There is nothing boring or non-sporting about a 4 door Motorsports car! Who was the tuner making a decent living converting e46 4 doors to M3 specs to meet demand....???? Unfortunately, I think there way too many E30, E36, and E46 M3's were produced to be true collector cars in the short term (25 years?). The only for sure E36 collectible will be the M3 LTW. The 600 or so E36 M Coupe's with S54 engines might be collectible some day, but I am thinking they made too many of them too. Rex

I see the current and last version of M5. BMW is making too many M cars to be a real collectable car. Maybe it's because of where I live/work I see a large number? I can't see paying close to new price for a 10 year old BMW unless my plan is to collect and save. I would also qualify that with money to burn. If you plan to drive a BMW, M or otherwise, paying premium for an almost zero mile garage queen is crazy. IMHO Heck, the engine hasn't even been broken in. Add to that, if the motor let's loose you got no warranty. Money is better spent on an example with double+ the miles for less than half the price so you can fix what *WILL* break.
