My recollection is that I have just a touch of rear toe in, 1/8th - 1/16th comes to mind, for stability. I'm currently running a similar amount of front toe but I am not - yet - adjusting toe when I add negative camber at the track. I'm going to be attempting that next time I head to the track. One thing at a time... I don't need to jack up the car at all when putting on the reinforcement plate correct? Just remove the 2 nuts, slap the plate in, put the 2 nuts back and torque down to ~17.5lbs? #5. o2 Sensors. - from Jeff Kumler
Top
Date: Tue, 12 Sep 2006 11:34:34 -0700 (PDT) From: Jeff Kumler <jdkumler@yahoo.com> Subject: o2 Sensors. Can anyone recommend a cheap source for o2 sensors? I need to replace both pre-cat sensors and need to find a vendor. AutoZone sells Bosch for $105 each, which sounded pretty reasonable to me compared to what I've seen on-line. So I assume that I'm missing something. Also, does anyone know if a car would be down on power if the ECU is still in a "not-ready" state after clearing CE codes? And, how many miles does it take an E36 M3 ECU to learn or change to a "Ready" state? I've been postponing my emissions test and now it's become an issue. Thanks and back to lurk mode, Jeff '96 M3 with less than 50K

For our Mazda MPV recently I bought from http://www.oxygensensors.com .. This was _exactly_ the same sensor as the Mazda OEM, but didn't have the OEM connector. Came with crimp stuff and heat shrink to attach it to the original connector ... worked perfectly, and was around 1/3 the cost at the dealer. However, looking at their 3.2l M3 prices, it's not too great a deal over Bosch parts ... --Andrew >Date: Tue, 12 Sep 2006 11:34:34 -0700 (PDT) >From: Jeff Kumler <jdkumler@yahoo.com> >Subject: o2 Sensors. > >Can anyone recommend a cheap source for o2 sensors? I ordered my NTK sensors from bimmerparts.com for about $75 each. Check under the "Specials" section. > And, how many miles does it take an E36 M3 ECU to learn or change to a > "Ready" state? I've been postponing my emissions test and now it's become an issue. I think I remember it being ignition start/drive/stop cycles rather than mileage, but I could be remembering incorrectly. Anyways... I have a reoccurring gross fuel leak code so I have to clear the codes before a smog test. It has been taking about three days for the System Readiness Tests to complete. I tend to drive a half dozen or so short trips in a typical day. Matthew '98 M3/4
