A few good whacks and it should just fall out. IIRC holes on the bushings go inboard, but I'm not 100% sure. I use dish washing detergent to get my new bushings on. Hi All, I have a pair of LCA's to replace on my 97 M3 sedan, and I got stuck. Went through the rear bushing unbolting and the subframe ball joint disconnect to the strut disconnect with no problems, I just couldn't get the last ball joint to let go,and didn't have much room to hammer with. Is there a trick to this, like steering the car to the side first? I'm also replacing the control arm bushings with stock M3 (non-offset rubber) type, and wondered if the holes need to be aligned in a certain way? Are there newer (maybe E46) bushings which are less prone to deterioration that I should look for instead? I know that there is at least one recipe for sticking the new one on the control arm, rather than using BMW lubricant> IIRC, one possibility is Windex--is that right? Is there a trick to > this, like steering the car to the side first? Turn the steering to get best access for hammering. Use a *heavy* hammer: engineer's hammer or a hand sledge. Hit the part of the steering knuckle holding the bj from the side, and give it a good whack. This isn't the moment for delicacy! It can help to use a puller to apply a constant force to the bj in the direction of separation while you hit, or you could use a pickle fork since you're replacing the parts and don't care. I understand that the discussion is about tires that are good buys right now and I guess the PS2 and the Bridgestone RE-01R are still both up there in the price ranges. I've had the S-03PPs and I thought that they were a bit "greasy" but I was using them on a 350Z at the time. As you mentioned I think the RE050s are being offered at a really good price right now. If they're at least equal to the S-02PP then it might not be a bad every day tire choice. I wonder if Canada gets the UK version perhaps? I don't see them as being blue in the least, in fact they were much more yellow than I expected. -Russ.

Was it something like a 9011 bulb but with a 9005/9006 base? I didn't even care if they were free just plain and simply available for us to purchase (and cheap). ;-) I bought 9011s (I think that's the number) from a group buy Rich D. did through Daniel Stern and that's what I run in my E30. Lots more light than whatever bulbs I had in there (E30 ellipsoids btw). I have yurro lights in my E36 and would like a similar bulb upgrade. -Carlos 98 M3 89 325i
