I'm anxious to hear about it and ultimately to see and drive it when it makes it state-side. Manual, sport package. Should be a really nice car. I hear the 300hp is under-rated, sounds like the 4.8 0-60 confirms that. Power should be on par with the E46 M3, and handling won't be too far off I bet - but for sure it will be softer and no LSD too. Motor still works fine, but the fan itself is toast. If anyone needs it, make me an offer and I'll probably jump at it. The fan is from a 1999 M3 and has about 60k miles on it.

#6. Tire fitment question - from Gus Iverson
Top
Date: Mon, 25 Sep 2006 15:54:25 -0700 From: "Gus Iverson" <gus.iverson@gmail.com> Subject: Tire fitment question I know we see these all the time but I think (hope) this is at least a moderately new twist. I've got a line on some cheap(ish) Victoracers. I need track tires to help me finish out the season (at least 4 more track days) and would prefer not to buy a new set of Toyos for $700 delivered. Unfortunately, the Victoracers aren't quite the right size - 255x40x17. I typically run 235x40x17 Toyo RA-1s. Specifics of my car: TC Kline c/o suspension running -3.5* caster on the track Target wheels: BBS RK 17x8 Non-rolled fenders Thoughts?

Yeah: 1) I assume that's *camber*, not caster :-) B) The tires may be a squeeze - I've run the 255 Kumhos on 8.5" wheels; iii) You'll need to roll the rear fenders, at least. It does make for some serious fun in a car around 3500 lbs. Granted here are many vehicles with a lot more torque, but try turning a corner in your truck following the 335i. Now, if I could only get that kind of performance from my E36 without spending a fortune. DANG! 88% of the current M3 Power at less than 80% the price. I could go for that. Two extra doors too.
