I sure wouldn't want to be sued by a new owner for modifying or tricking the SRS system. Regards, Rich

If you are concerned with noise from the Powerflex bushings, I surely wouldn't recommend the Ground Control "Hybrid" Camber plates. My Ground Control "Hybrid" Camber plates make more noise than any other part of my suspension by far. Anyone interested in a lightly used set of Ground Control "Hybrid" Camber plates, let me know, mine are for sale. Regards, Rich

I did that to raise the car some for street, and I used shorter tires for autox. If the wheels have too much offset, they could rub, but on the OE wheels or similar, it should be fine. I currently have a set of Hoosier R6 in 225/45R17 (It's all the tire vendor had in stock at Mid-Ohio) on Kosei K1s that fit just fine. There is about 5mm clearance between the tire and fender in front (unrolled fenders). #9. anyone have an SRS reader/reset tool I can borrow in SoCal? - from Scott Yu

Date: Mon, 9 Oct 2006 11:50:25 -0700 (PDT) From: Scott Yu <segascott@yahoo.com> Subject: anyone have an SRS reader/reset tool I can borrow in SoCal? Hi folks, I'm finally getting around to fixing a slew of annoying little bits on the car, and I'm down to the last few items. I've had the SRS warning light on for a while and I figure it's either the passenger pad or one of the latches. Does anyone in SoCal have a reader/reset tool that I could borrow for a couple of days? I'd gladly return the favor with an alcoholic or non-alcoholic beverage if you'd like. I commute between Lancaster and Venice 2-3 times a week and could pick up at your convenience. Thanks in advance! --------------------------------- Stay in the know. Pulse on the new Yahoo.com. Check it out.

I received a new sensor ($87 - ouch) and installed it today. No more SRS light - yay. It was relatively easy to do. I have heated manual sport (vader) seats - maybe they are easier than the other seats. I'd also like to thank whomever mentioned Bavarian Soundwerks. That reminded me I needed to get some speakers to replace some that had been 'installed' to replace blown door speaker. I ordered speakers, installed them, and it sounds mucho better than it did. I also took the opportunity to install the driver's door lock module I've had kicking around for a couple of years. Here is an overview of occupancy sensor replacement if it helps anyone: 1) remove seat 2) from under the seat, unscrew 2 screws (T20) that hold front of seat base to pan 3) pull rear of seat base up. Rear is held in place by 2 fasteners (tapered plastic type with circumferential rings) but they pull out easily enough 4) replace sensor mat 5) put back together marty '96 M3 - fully functional SRS plus new door lock module and speakers '95 540i
