The welded tubular head pipes are more expensive to produce. New $126.5 each hence $253 for the pair. These are brand new and never mounted. I have had great experience with these (they resist cracking/warping much better than the untreated rotors and will pay off when you do not need a second set). Need this out of the garage, will knock off $80 from the total. $173 for the pair. Ahmad

#7. Strut tower deformation - from Jason Knight

Date: Mon, 30 Oct 2006 14:16:00 -0800 (PST) From: Jason Knight <knight2244@yahoo.com> Subject: Strut tower deformation A friend is looking at an e36 m3, and is quite excited to buy it, but has some minor concern over some undulations in the metal of the passenger front shock tower. http://tinyurl.com/ymlrre These "ripples" are somewhat visible in the engine bay pic in the ad for the car. He says that there are perhaps three or four of these undulations, and the depth is perhaps 1/8th of an inch deep. He thinks they look like the wheel was compressed upwards (as opposed to being pushed rearwards). The car has had some front end damage in the past, which could cause something like this I suppose. Has anyone ever seen something like this? He's actually fairly jazzed that the car isn't pristine. He's adding it to a stable that includes a well maintained, (relatively) low mileage E30 M3 that he wipes with baby diapers any time a spec of dust gets on it, so the ability to drive this car harder on track will be substantially easier.
