For a while BMP were advertising an aluminum intake for the S50 with indivdual throttle bodies. I saw it at SEMA in 2003 and it looked like a nice piece. I asked them for a dyno sheet, and am still waiting. I can't find it on their website anymore so I guess it wasn't so good. -- Jamie Howton 2006 M Roadster 2004 645Ci 1995 M3 Hampshire, IL

Date: Thu, 30 Nov 2006 10:27:04 -0800 From: "Brian Ruiz" <eurowerke@gmail.com> Subject: Re: [E36M3] Virgin LTW - Part 2 The car was being sold by McKenna BMW in Norwalk, CA (one of the better BMW dealerships in the So CA area). Consequently, the LA Chapter November general meeting was at McKenna 3 weeks ago. I had a chance to look at the car up close and examine stuff pretty closely, and I snapped 8 or 10 pics. It still had the original window sticker (retaped to the window), which was set at a little over $47,470, and there was also a paper taped to the windshield that talked about how new it was and asked a little over $48K for it. The paint was amazing to see, so shiny and smooth, hardly a swirl mark to be seen. The decals on the trunk and hood definitely look a tad bit aged, but only up close. Everything else was amazingly clean and sharp, and it was pretty weird to see an 11 year old car that was still new. It could definitely use some new tires though...11.5 year old OE Michelin tires are probably pretty scary to drive on. There were also about 2 fairly deep scratches in the paint on the passenger door or front fender (I can't remember which), but I'd bet those could get repaired as a condition of sale. Not sure if it's sold yet. Off to my lunch meeting for a possible new job....=-O Brian build 8/95 On 11/30/06, Andrew Kalman <aek@pumpkininc.com> wrote: > > Date: Thu, 30 Nov 2006 00:29:07 -0800 > From: Andrew Kalman <aek@pumpkininc.com> > Subject: Re: [E36M3] Virgin LTW - Part 2 > > Was it a legit second offer, or the usual phishing scam? > > >Date: Thu, 30 Nov 2006 03:05:52 EST > >From: LoweSeaton@aol.com > >Subject: Virgin LTW - Part 2 > > > >Remember that LTW with 157 miles owned by a California BMW dealership > >offered for sale on eBay a few weeks ago? My drip - for over a years time frame - became a gush. As it turns out, there is an o-ringed-plug in the back of the head that closes the drilling for an oil galley. The plug in mine had backed out. Had the car on a lift and was able to 'see'/tighten the plug and the leak stopped. Could also be valve cover gasket. Note the double humps in the aft portion of the gasket, these can leak where the 'humps' meat the continuous portion of the gasket. http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts.do?model=BG93&mospid=47488&btnr=11_ 2308&hg=11&fg=15 My money is on the plug in the back of the head. First, they it was the reverse light switch, although the fluid was coming from above it. Then some seal up on top the tranny. Then, I was driving it hard and it was coming out the overflow. But, there are some days when I drive to work at 45 mph tops and then home again and it still leaks. Now the thought is something or other clogged. It just drips a little over night and is not over full. The fluid is coming somewhere from the top it seems. It never leaked before having all the seals replaced when I also had the engine rebuilt. Now, it has leaked constantly since April. Any ideas? I am at the end of my patience. Thanks. Gary 1995 M3

#9. Winter tire update - from Stefano G

Date: Fri, 1 Dec 2006 10:16:34 -0500 (EST) From: "Stefano G" <stefanoale@excite.com> Subject: Winter tire update I ended up getting 205/60/16 Fuzion tires HRi mounted on my borbets 16x7.5 type H euro ET40 with 10mm spacers and longer lugs. I got these tires because they had good traction in light snow but are still all-season performance tires and they cost $46/tire which is key when trying a new size since there was a chance that I had to get rid of them. After a day of driving these are the results: - very tight fit At full lock they barely touch on the inside but are perfect up to 90-95% lock. Everything else ok. - very smooth ride compare to the 17" ( I have SSRs which are lighter than the stock wheel so they make the ride a little harsher too) - skinnier tires big sidewall = slower corner speeds I still have to explore this but there seems to be much better than the horrible blizzak ws-15 they replace. - little taller gears - which I like since on the highway I always look for that 6th gear. Stefano '98 M3 with big winter shoes which I like so far... _______________________________________________ Join Excite! - http://www.excite.com The most personalized portal on the Web!
