When they stop with this ridiculous and annyoing "bigger is better" one-upmanship. Really, though, the E90 is not a bad platform at all. It's just a little too big to be considered a "sporty little sedan/coupe" My first track excursion ever was in a barely used 06 330i (before the wife and I became completely addicted) and I was impressed with how well it did - as were my two instructors, having not been in one before - considering the stock camber, crappy runflats and distinct lack of driver talent. For me, the E36 is the perfect blend of size (both my kids fit in the back seat easily - 4 doors is great), tossability, almost-luxury, and feel. Now if I could only get an ///M3 wagon..... -jeff 98 ///Sedan ____________________________________________________________________________________ Have a burning question? It was my younger son who bought an old 2002 in high school, got hooked on BMWs, and convinced me to buy the M3 while he was in college. Before that my last BMW was a 2002 bought new in 1976 and gave me 20 years of great service before the NY rust ate it. Now he and I do driving schools together, me in his old E30 which I started to modify when he got the E36 325. Just did a full coilover, sway bar, and other toy installation on his over Thanksgiving to get ready for track season. I think BMW had to really soften up the springs/shocks to compensate for the ultra stiff sidewall on the runflats. I'd worry that simply replacing the tires with nice high performance ones will bring out how fundamentally soft the suspension is. In the grand scheme of things, suspensions are relatively cheap and unless you go completely nuts, easily put back to stock. Hopefully someone will try this and get back to the gruppe with the results. E36M3 content - If you are looking for a fast, fun 4 door sedan and don't want to deal with a 10 year old M3, the 335i is a serious contender. It seems like most of the handling "feel" criticisms could be addressed by decent tires rather than run-flats, and a more agressive alignment. How long before Quaiffe comes out with an LSD for it? Regards, Robert Puertas -----Original Message----- Gruppe, I recently saw an ad somewhere on the net about an e30 M3 rolling chassis/shell for sale, but now I can't find it. IIRC, the car (w/o drivetrain) is in California and used to be a DM car in CCA Club racing. Does anyone recall seeing the same post or can anyone put me in touch with this car/owner? Thanks, Tucker

I'm fairly certain all the underbody aero in that car takes it out of D-Mod. That's a super Mod car. :-) Pretty neat with that tube framed rear end. Carlos 98 M3 89 325i
