What I really wanted to say though was, just say NO to Meyle. Complete junk in my experience. I don't care what they say is "improved" or "heavy-duty", the parts are not nearly as good as OE stock parts for that matter and most all OEM parts are better. Regards, Rich

Date: Mon, 01 Jan 2007 20:03:59 +0000 From: kim.burgess@att.net Subject: Front Control Arms: Meyle full metal ball joint I fit a set on my wife's 328. So far they seem to be working fine. Bought= mine from James @ Bimmerworld for ~ $99 each. By the way, I think I recall that Meyle is somehow connected with Bilstie= n. As I recall, the only difference (for the 96+) between the stock M and no= n-M control arm is the outer ball joint. KLB- Happy New Year! -------------------- 7 -------------------- Date: Fri, 29 Dec 2006 17:00:18 +0000 From: jakeadavis@comcast.net Subject: Front Control Arms: Meyle full metal ball joint Ok, got the new Bav Auto catalog just after Xmas and did some reading. They've got the Meyle front control arms for the E36 chassis with the 'im= proved'=20 full metal ball joints. However, they appear to be applicable to 318/325 = only,=20 not for M3. What's the difference (if there is one)? I know E30 M3 came with aluminum control arm for reduced unsprung weight,= =20 thought E36 M3 came with steel arm even though E30 arm is fittable. Jake Davis

I purchased in & out'r lft & rght tie rods of a discounter on ebay. Cheap at 70 bucks for everything but wore out in less than 5K miles, eating some expensive tire needless to say. I think Lemforeder (sp) are better. Not sure what brand oem are. Wouldn't mind a comment or two, as I am in the market for a full set (again). I had two sets on E30s last similarly, completely shot in less than 7-8k miles. I do my own work so there is no out-of-pocket costs for labor and I still wouldn't install Meyle parts if they were given to me for free. I think Lemforeder (sp) are better.
