I'd be cool if there were a list on this list's web site of people that have the code readers, SRS, and any other special E36 M3 tools and their location. For example, I have both tools and live in Antioch, CA. If anyone ever needs to use them and lives close by, I'm happy to help. It fits nicley under lowered cars and is the best deal I've found. They also had the aluminum jack stands for $25 or so. You can see them here: http://snipurl.com/16jgm . I have no experience with this jack or these stands but it looks like a good deal because if you search by the model number you find that the jack is the fast-pump race one that sells for $169.99 alone http://snipurl.com/16ji6 . No affiliation with Northern Tool but thought this might help someone out. -Wayne ************************************************* Please help support the E36M3 list by visiting our sponsors: Bimmerworld http://www.bimmerworld.com Turner Motorsport http://www.turnermotorsport.com Eurosport High Performance http://www.eurosporthighperformance.com Rogue Engineering http://www.rogueengineering.com Treehouse Racing http://www.treehouseracing.com Elephant Motorsports Inc. http://www.elephantmotorsports.com DIGEST INFORMATION: http://www.bmw-m.net/resources/digest_info.htm ************************************************* ________________________________________________________________________ Check out the new AOL. Although knowing me, I'd take a couple months to get it completed. It could be a very simple web interface with a simple search to list people who submit their info for SRS and Oil/Service reset tools or otherwise. I think this would be a great resource more specific to us more hardcore enthusiasts who wrench on our own cars. #8. RedLine SI-1 - from Brian Ruiz
Top
Date: Thu, 4 Jan 2007 20:15:13 -0800 From: "Brian Ruiz" <eurowerke@gmail.com> Subject: RedLine SI-1 Hey all, I just bought a bottle of RedLine SI-1 Fuel System Cleaner. I am a bit confused about how to use it though. The bottle says that it treats up to 100 gallons, but I'm thinking that is just for "maintenance doses" to keep the system clean. The "recommended dosage" (as it says on the bottle) says to "use 1 bottle to 20 gallons for quick cleanup of injectors and intake valves." I think this means dumping the whole bottle in the tank after filling up, but I just wanted to be sure. I'm trying to eliminate heavy buildup in the engine as a culprit for my pinging under load. I also noticed earlier today a light oily dirt buildup around the base of the intake manifold runners where they mount to the head (although I only looked near the front of the head underneath the PCV vent hole in the valve cover that seems to always be leaking on the S50), so I'm thinking it's time to pull it apart and replace the manifold gaskets to be sure there are no vacuum leaks (and also replace those knock sensors while I'm in there). So, in summary, I need advice about the intake gaskets, and whether or not a whole bottle of this cleaner is what I need to dump in the tank. Thanks, Brian build 8/95
