That was a punched out Yurro motor with one of those multi disk tiny clutches that rattles like nobody's business. Hunted like crazy at idle also. I don't mind a hunting idle, reminds me of those race cars. :-) Carlos 89 325i hunts a bit but it has no o2 sensor 98 M3 idles just fine after the M50 Eurosport intake conv. kit swap

I'd prefer not to spend a fortune, but am willing to spend what it takes to get something that's good quality. As a point of reference, typically when I buy tools I'll buy SK, Mac, Cornwell, Facom - I don't usually buy Snap-On (nice, just too expensive IMHO) or Craftsman (unless it's something I'm sure I'll only use once - their professional line is good, was made by SK?). Thanks!

Then figure out how to attach all the fold-down seat hardware - it's a lot different than the non-fold down variety. Probably want to have an M3 with fold-down rear seats handy as a model or template for figuring out how all the "stuff" fits together and where. Sounds like a lot of work :-) Jim Bassett 1998 M3/4 - would to have rear fold-down seats, but not THAT much :-) 1993 325is #44 JP - nearly touring-like in it's openness :-)

I have no issues with the idle at all, it is rock steady. -- Jamie Howton 2006 M Roadster 2004 645Ci 1995 M3 Hampshire, IL

FWIW, that car is now out here in the SF Bay Area. It does sound very cool :-) Jim Bassett

AFAIK It would require cutting out the bulkhead and then welding in the brackets that the folding seatbacks attach to (which would first have to be cut out of a donor car). I have removed the folding rear seats from my coupe, although I haven't cut the mounting brackets out of it yet so I can take some pictures if you are really interested. -- Jamie Howton 2006 M Roadster 2004 645Ci 1995 M3 Hampshire, IL

But more importantly, where are those IFG center caps? I've sold the wheels (on condition that I get first dibs if the new owner wants to sell them), but would like to provide the center caps to the new owner.
