The majority of opinions seem to be that the car is priced right, but winter is hurting. However, several folks, Dave included, told me about '95's they bought both recently and some years ago for less money. And what took me by surprise a little were the comments that the luxury package devalues the car slightly. I kind of prefer it, but obviously others don't. Raza, your point about the steering wheel is correct. It does not show well and is a little dry. Would you shoot me a price for yours offline? Dave, all panels have original VIN stickers. No "DOT" stickers anywhere on the car. Lastly, the hole in the front bumper is a slight "puncture" that was there when I bought the car. I've just never bothered to have it filled and the bumper resprayed. I may have to do that too I guess! Thanks for all of the opinions guys. I appreciate your time. I think its a good asking price, but perhaps a bit high. I paid $13.3k for a '95 about a year ago in at least as good of condition (90k miles), and it was bone stock (well...staggered contours), which adds a lot of value IMO. The wood and luxury seats may not be real desirable to some...but...if it has had all of the suspension bushings, a-arms, and usual wear items done recently, litterally 'needs nothing', and the paint looks as good in person as it does in the pics...I could see someone paying $15K for it. For me, really good paint and body really will raise the value, mechanical stuff is easy to fix..but I don't have a paint booth ;-) Speaking of paint/body...what up with that grill? http://i170.photobucket.com/albums/u274/tuckerryals/M3_4.jpg Also, do all of the body panels have the VIN stickers? Any "DOT" panels? Dave T ____________________________________________________________________________________ Don't pick lemons. See all the new 2007 cars at Yahoo! I had trouble selling a mint, 2001 330 - took way longer than I expected. Sport package, manual trans, silver. I cannot tell you how many calls I got from women looking for an AT - and those are just the ones that could not read the add properly and called to check..... Part of the reason I picked up the 330i was I figured it would be easy to sell at any point. Turns out that was not the case and I had to lower the price a bit more than expected to move it. Mine are on their way back from Koni NA after being rebuilt so I'll know soon if that made any difference (I mentioned that the left one clicked/klunked a lot more than the right one). Until my new shocks/struts come, these will be on the race car (then the rears go on my wife's 2002 M3 since they share the same rear shock!). Cheers, Kirk Lachman Sin City Chapter '95 M3 #21 I-stock

Has anyone installed a set of the Turner shorty headers on their car? I'm considering doing this but the task looks a little daunting and I'm wondering if I should undertake this now while I have the exhaust system off. Or am I just asking to have my car out of commission for several more weeks! Here's link so you can see these things. They just look huge and I have to wonder how they will fit in the engine bay. http://www.turnermotorsport.com/html/detail.asp?PRODUCT_ID=SHORTYHEADER Thanks, - Larry

I have a set of Stanley ratcheting wrenches (one of the best tool purchases I've made!). Tell me about how the new headers go in. From the top? Bottom? Did you have to jack up the engine at all to get them in? Is there enough room to slip the header over all the studs sticking out from the head? I have this lovely, silver, flex tube that runs from the front of the engine to the firewall just above the exhaust manifold. Not sure what it is, but it really is in the way of getting at things from above. Do you have the same thing? Did you disconnect it somehow? I looked at it quickly this morning and it is a crimp connection so I'm not sure how I would get that out of the way if I need to. Did you bolt up the stock cat again? If so, how was the alignment with the headers? I just want to be really sure about this before I jump in head first. Can you recall some of the details of your removal and installation? - Larry On 2/8/07, Lee Piccione <leepic@smart.net> wrote: > > I have a set. I have bought and sold a couple M3's and one thing that I have noticed is that local metro area you are in has a strong influence on pricing. The San Francisco Bay Area seems to be about 20% more expensive than other "normal" E36 M3 markets. I have observed this as a buyer and a seller. Which is why I knew if I wanted a clean low mileage M3 sedan for under the high teens then I was going to have travel. Rex
