Speaking of FWD, I've had my 2007 VW 4-door GTI w/DSG for 7 months now, and still haven't warmed up to the front wheels doing the driving. I'm sure a LSD would help but don't know how much. If a full year goes by and I just can't deal with it, it'll be time to sell it and get a 4-door E36 M3 and get into a long-term relationship. By the way, the window sticker said the EPA est. MPG was 25/32...I've been getting 21...but that's having fun with it. The new Mini (regular model) has numbers of 32/40 MPG! You do have to wonder what will happen to valuations of larger cars when gas goes to $5.00/gallon and stays there. ----- Original Message ----- From: <jbjerke@charter.net> To: "E36M3" <e36m3@bmw-m.net> Sent: Tuesday, February 20, 2007 5:37 PM Subject: Re: [E36M3] E90 M3 Photos > Date: Tue, 20 Feb 2007 14:28:32 -0800 > From: <jbjerke@charter.net> > Subject: Re: [E36M3] E90 M3 Photos > > The TL is nice and with the 6-speed you get 4 piston Brembo brakes too. > But you best make sure you have a good grip on the wheel when uncorking > it, because there is a lot of torque steer. I left the diff bushings rubber since I drive the car on the street, and saw no point in changing them to something hard. I went with the purple powerflex bushings for the subframe, and it does make the rear of the car more precise for AutoX use, and really didn't effect the ride much at all on the street. It's tricky to get the old bushings out, but easy to install the new ones. Check the subframe for cracks near the rear bar while it't out.
