I'm not saying they are the same, but there are several distinct similarities. Now I hope they do not crank up the weight to some 3600+ lbs. Well, they will... But I hope there is some CSL version in the works too (wishful thinking). I am already excited :) Ahmad -------------------- 10 -------------------- Date: Wed, 7 Mar 2007 13:26:40 -0800 (PST) From: L R <lhrc51@yahoo.com> Subject: E90 M3 "concept" BMW M3 'Concept' 420PS (414hp - probably a little less with new SAE standards) capable of over 300kph (186mph) <http://www.auto-motor-und-sport.de/medien/foto-shows/news/mpsfshw_show_5009 25_14093.hbs?ext_index=0&ext_show_id=MPSFSHW::SHOW::500925&backtrack=%2Fnews %2Fauto_-_produkte%2Fhxcms_article_502418_14194.hbs&>

I've had the set on the M3 for 7-8 years now (originally purchased from Steve D'G at The Ultimate Garage). No problems. Also, +1 on a GOOD flare nut wrench. Hey Guys, Have a few quick questions. It appears that my driver's side mirror has quit functioning. I am assuming that it is the motor. Here are my questions: Does this sound about right? If so, where could I obtain a replacement motor (and mirror for that matter)? And finally, is it easy to replace? Thank you in advance. Torque steer is the ONLY isssue I have with this car. It's a 6-speed and comes with 4 piston Brembo brakes, great seats, nice sound/navigation system etc. Her last several cars were E36 & E46 cars and I no longer have to change cooling system components, cam position sensors, idle control valves, control arms etc. Down to one set of all season tires that work just fine the few times a year we get snow and she doesn't even recognize the torque steer. Date: Tue, 6 Mar 2007 16:59:03 -0800 From: Mpower <mpower@obikwan.com> Subject: Re: [E36M3] TSX? Without causing a crap storm (which I probably will with this statement), but I would have chosen the TSX over the other choices if it was to be my 'everyday driver.' With that said, the reasons are simple. It's a acura/honda! It will run forever if you maintain it. (Well it should at least.) If there was a Toyota on that list I would consider that before the Acura. =P Now if your friend is a carnut, and doesn't care, then that changes everything. But any mechanic that specializes in japanese cars will rank it as: Toyota, honda and the rest of them. This is in terms of reliability, not "other" factors. I'm sure the WRX ranks way up more in the fun department. Hence, my wife drives an Acura. It's reliable, safe, and pretty darn fast for a big'o sedan. The build quality I'm not to thrilled about to be honest with you. I'd love to put her in a 5er, but I'm not confident enough in the reliability of it. Enough said..for now. Hope I didn't open a can of worms! =P -kelvin

Date: Thu, 8 Mar 2007 21:40:14 -0500 From: "W. Wallace" <emailmeman@earthlink.net> Subject: 95 M3 Brake Pad Suggestions? Looking for some help. I’m looking for a set of pads that will perform well on the street (not a daily driver) and at an upcoming HPDE. I have Axxis Ultimate’s but they are over ¾ worn, so it’s time to replace, and I want to try something new. Noise is not a factor. Thanks in advance. William T. Wallace 95 M3

Although they are squeeky squeeky on the street. I've got a set of barely used Axxis Ultimates and a set of 1/4 used HP Pluses that I'd be willing to sell. Of course it depends upon where you are and when the event is. The HP+ pads are currently on the car, so I'd have to switch them out with the Axxis Ultimates. I've been running their XP-8 in both my M3 and 325 for both street and track. I've found them to be good street pads even though not recommended for street use since they are an entry level track pad. Wear has been excellent at the track and they perform very well on the street, even in Winter in northern NY For mostly track either the XP-10 or XP-12 would be better as they offer a higher temperature range but for me, the XP-8 works well. You also have to swap rotors if you change pads at the track since the ceramic Carbotech pads do not work well with semi-metallic pads on other pads. After about 2 stops it feels like a very bad set of warped rotors on on wheels. That is one of the reasons I run them all year long but also because they work better in the cold than the OEM Pagids.
