My ETK shows the bolt, plate, and retaining washer as one item with the part number 61-21-8-353-010. I used the VIN from my 1998 M3 Sedan. Rex

Interesting note on warm up: In the glovebox manual it specifically states to not allow the car to fully warm up by just letting it sit...says to drive it mellow to get it to temp. Dave T.

I think I managed 13 tanks of gas in 2006. I would have to check the log book to be sure, but that's roughly the 4k you name. This is not a "put it away for the winter" car; its a garaged car that gets driven at least twice every three weeks - I'll commute in it if I have not been in it lately, drive it if we manage to go out without the baby, etc. Now that its gone through this low-mileage-but-regular-use method for a year, any thing special that I should pay attention to? I expect this will continue for a while, any thoughts for going forward? I'd recommend Mid Ohio or VIR if you're willing to travel a fair amount. The Glen is OK, though not that technical. If you want to do something a little more exotic, tap into one of the schools at Mt Tremblant, CAN in June when the blues festival is going in town. Hey, it's my car's tenth birthday too! I'm an instructor in the NCC chapter and move the car pretty fast (it's stock), though I'm not the type to hammer brakes to get that last little bit in every corner. Still, the main track at Summit Point in WV can be fairly hard on pads as you have two hard braking zones in a sub 1:30 lap. The pads held up almost the same as PF90s (as far as I remember) and gave me reasonable bite. I told Gerry Low (sp?!) I was looking for something like the old PF-90s...a moderate, driveable track pad. These had the added benefit that they were streetable when I couldn't find the time to take them off the car for three weeks after a school last summer...Not too much nasty stuff on the wheels and not hard on the rotors...of course they squealed like a pen full of stuck pigs. Great suggestion Marc, I might just have to settle for some auto-xing where I know my way around :) Track will open up a whole new addiction for me that I cannot budget time/cash for at this point in my life. Maybe for its 15th birthday (when it becomes a classic by pa state law). How about this suggestion: Get the car blown :) I could finally install the supercharger, (I've had an AA kit on the work bench for 2 years now). I could make a whole big "date" out of it. Some final auto-x's in STU, then base test at dyno, then install and follow with a dyno of final results. BTW this could all happen before the final clicks of 100K on the odometer. What a odometer picture that would make, 10th b-day, turning 100K, doing 100 mph with freshly installed blower. Could be a momentous occasion or a catastrophe!
